Doom break- Theoretically as we know zombies…

Zombies are circumstantial I suppose. Depends on how many are infected locally, what kind of zombies they actually are, and how long until they decompose/non-functional

From most zombie movies I’ve seen, it seems they don’t die, even in freezing weather, so let’s go with that premise.

Zombies will kill each other

I see no way for a body to function past a working central nervous system unless they nail nanotechnology. If AI or someone who took over the hive mind technology bypasses the central nervous system then theoretically you could have zombies continue longer but even nanotech would have a shelf life.
