The only cool things I saw in their pathetic bubbleheaded chick news bit was the hand crank flashlight (which might have other features like charging USB devices) & the sturdy bag itself (a good durable bag is exsoensive. I've had bags break or tear right after started using them).

The rest of the stuff was TP, roll of paper towels, wipes, bottle of hydrogen peroxide, bandages, gause, typical small wound care.

All the things & a bag people should have in their vehicles, & of course larger more diverse broader application setup at home.

The reason people had to give info was because it is only for local community members.

They stated for reserving a kit before all taken for the Sept 24th date to goto local website & formally reserve 1 & pick up on that date those 4 Hrs they distributing.

What I don't get is why Denver specifically. It's a very geologically safe region. There's no natural disaster that will hit them, unless Yellowstone erupts. In which case no bugout bag will save you.

Ordinarily you would prioritize bugout programs to people who live in dangerous areas like California, the Pacific Northwest, the New Madrid zone. Not Denver, CO.

I've got a regular backpack and a hiking bag that I can carry a combined about 70 lbs in.

Yes I know that's a lot of weight and not too sustainable when you're trying to get away, but I think I could do about 20 to 30 miles with that weight.

Of course I'd aim for about half that.

I recommend ordering freeze dried foods since they can last about 30 to 50 years and are super light weight. In addition have really good water filtration methods which require almost no weight.

Something strange is always happening in Denver. Lots of agencies set up shop there around 2000-2002. Even our dispatchers were relocated there. Woulld love to live there. Am told the climate is very pleasant.

No space in my bag for food (70l bag ) Thats because its a windy, rainy and cold place. Could maybe scale it back. Could maybe actually add some hiking food pouches. They say water is more important. Sure but ideally you need some hiking pouches because it might be a nightmare trying to bag a squirrel. There should be enough rain. To not be thirsty.
