My Grandmother walked into airport security with a gun in her purse...

Happened years ago before all this shit hit the fan. Happened early in the morning, around 4:00a.m. We were going to Pennsylvania for a wedding. Red lights flash everywhere, everyone goes into a confused panic, but obeyed the orders from the intercom to stay in place. Gates go down in front and in back of us, so we're all essentially trapped. I look at the opposing line, and see my own Grandmother being surrounded by officers in black. They take her down below, to the dungeon that I expect is present in every major airport.

Long story short, they took her gun, and said they would keep it until she returned. It was an officer who personally held her gun for her until she returned to the city.

What's crazy was our return flight, where I had pastels in my carry-on. I was under extra-scrutiny, for what happened in our original city's airport. They told me the pastels looked like drill bits, and after explanation, or discarding the carbon utensils, I was allowed to wait at the gate.

Now, I feel like going to the bathroom, so I do just that before boarding the plane. I get back to the gate, and there are rows and rows of TSA agents waiting at the gate as well. Everyone goes on board, I'm one of the last in line. These agents picked me out of the entire line to search my carry-on bag. I allow them to do so, because what did I have to hide? They allow me to board...

Never forgot this experience to this date.
