If you consider yourself a Christian then the most important thing is sacrifice. Sacrifice your time and treasure for others and you will gain something far greater than the cost of both combined.

God has given you an exceedingly minute moment on this earth to prove yourself through your good deeds, and in doing so gain everlasting life in heaven. Your time here is a mere speck on the endless horizon of eternity, and by using that precious time to focus on earthly possessions instead of helping others you are making an incredibly bad bargain with what you would stand to gain otherwise.

By desgin, the byproduct of such a pursuit clears a path toward heaven on earth as others pay your good deeds forward, causing your kindness to propagate through society. By serving others you serve God because you bring heaven to earth and make life brighter for all of His children. Jesus showed you this path when he devoted His life and death to the benefit of others. As a Christian all you have to do is follow that path here and it will guide you to everlasting life up there. Do not make the mistake of trading heaven for earth.

I know, I know: most of you are eagerly awaiting the moment you can whip out your bibles and point out countless scriptures which you will argue justify your actions, but we both know you're fooling yourselves (and playing a very reckless game with eternity while you're at it).

than going to a garage makes you a car.

You claim to be Christian and this makes you a disciple of Christ which means you are bound to follow in His footsteps and spread His examples and teachings to others (John 13:1-17). If you are not doing so then you either fundamentally misunderstand what it means to be Christian (unlikely because it couldn't be more obvious - but if so the good news is after reading this the path will be clear to you), or you are merely pretending to follow Him because it benefits you in some way, and how heartbreaking that must be for Him.

God will reward each of us for what we have done.

The question I must put to you dear reader, is what could be more fulfilling in life than filling the stomachs of those suffering in starvation? Or passing out blankets to those who are freezing? Or building houses for those without shelter? Surely you must realize that the rewards for following in His footsteps will fill you with the light of heaven, and in time you will come to learn that what you now foolishly consider to be sacrifice (surrendering your time and treasure for the betterment of others) is no sacrifice at all, but rather an elixir of salvation that reaches to the heart of your soul both here on earth and in heaven.

Hands that help are better than lips that pray.

It should not be possible for a church to exist in a community while at the same time someone seeking nourishment is going hungry in that community. So turn off all the violence, murder, and hatred emanating out of your TV that would make Jesus weep if he were sitting with you while you were enjoying it, and get out there and do good works.
