It's not the country that you strive for that leaves you alone. No place with other humans will EVER leave you alone. All you need is space, a lot of it. There are a lot of places you can go in the wilderness. You don't even need to own the land in the US or have a lot of money.

Here's an example: Set up a legit mining claim way out in the sticks along a river. You have every right to be there, to work your mine or be on federal land because you're an American with a yearly "permit" to mine an official claim. It costs $165 a year to mine 20 acres. Even with one claim, you might not have neighbors, but you can only take minerals from your 20 acre claim.

You're able to set up a work or residential shack if the mine is "patented" and you pay like 150 dollars a year tax on it. So not only do you have a river source for water from the mining, you also have a shack and a place you can stay. A lot of these claims are way in the wilderness. You might not see other people for a long time. Just need to come into civilization once a year to renew your claim, pay taxes and get supplies.

Or if you don't want to pay for a patented mine, temporary structures like wall tents are permitted on your 20 acre claim.

You have water along a river. Electricity? Solar or water power. But you'd probably stop using so much of it. Free people don't need a lot of it. You can set up sluices and such or just pan for gold or other minerals in the river or creek for a hobby and stay in your shack.

This is one way to cheaply and legally live away from others so they don't bother you. There are many people living in freedom tucked away in different places. Channel your inner pioneer. If you start looking, you'll see there are modes to the kind of freedom you want. Your options get bigger if you want to throw some money into it.
