How many reviews will you read...before making an online purchase? | |

And i have everything i could possibly ever need. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 84125542 LOL. Online shopping is great for finding things you never thought existed and thus you mistakenly THOUGHT you have everything you might ever need. If I go online to do some window shopping, I know I'll find something within 15-30 minutes that I never knew existed that I must have one now too, because I suddenly need it. Happens all the time. Thus I generally don't do a lot of window shopping online unless I'm bored with everything else that I already have. I found an item for a couple hundred dollars last week that I bought on Amazon. I thought only wifi version of this product existed. But I won't use wifi. WPA2 and WPA3 have been compromised. I've been hacked numerous times (MITM intrusions). So I no longer use it under any circumstances. But this product had a 1/2 mile range, and didn't use wifi. Wow, cool, a must have. It's 4 motion detectors and one receiver. Nice. I can place them back in the woods and be alerted to deer approaching some crab apple trees. In the spring they come dig in the melting snow looking for these apples that fell last year. They have fermented, and the deer get drunk on them. And when they get drunk, they act silly and dance a lot. They will pair up and face each other while jumping high up into the air. Fun to watch them. Now I can know when they show up next spring. And, while I'm back in the woods watching, the 2 of 4 sensors I left in the house will let me know if anyone tries to break in and steal anything when I'm not around. Or I can put one at the end of the long driveway and know when UPS is bringing me something else. I can meet then when they pull up so they don't have to come all the way to the door. Other possibilities too. The product had many good reviews from verified legitimate customers. Window shopping can be fun, but also expensive. And I tend to trust the educated reviews on Amazon from verified purchasers. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 80669678 United States 09/03/2022 10:49 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | There's not a number of reviews. It's more like I want to see pictures and videos that answer my questions. I also search the text for answers. As for the stars, I really don't care what some internet trolls rate a product. But information posted, yes, I want to see that. Bottom line: There's no number of reviews. I certainly don't care about stars. But the reviewer text often says what the product page won't, and I need to see that info. |

They're worth 2x the price of knockoffs, especially for longevity. Do you have the Review Data to support that BOLD claim? What does Amazon have to say about this? And e-bay too. What about the manufacturer's website? Hummm...... Those are a little bit fishy....don't you think? :Capt Jack Cheers::Atta Boy: OP demands specific data. Hand it over now! |

If the 1 star reviews are a bunch of whiners and trolls I feel good about buying it. If a number of them talk about the same specific issues I'll typically pass or at minimum look much harder. |

Quoting: Educated Redneck Reason being you like me are Street wise. Good reviews are always barely a sentence long.Bots pimping up the ratings of a product. Negative reviews always genuine and from customers. I will tolerate a few over a year, discard those complaining about customer service, because after purchase customer service is always shit :-) All i am really interested in is the product fit for purpose. I get negative reviews over Quality of a product it is a deal breaker. Dogsbollocks |
