Mako Shark, on it's own, Jumps into boat (video)

According to this report, the fishermen weren't allowed to keep or kill it due to government regulations.

According to NOAA Fisheries, the federal government recently banned keeping Atlantic shortfin Makos back in July, so the fishermen couldn’t kill it.

I ate mako shark once, felt like I was eating leather.

Is it any wonder?… It’s in excruciating pain with a hook imbedded in the roof of its mouth and being pulled and yanked on.

You have to soak it in Oil of Oregano over night first.

Hmm, it would be too dangerous to romove what is likely a large hook in its mouth or throat, so the shark is going to die of its wound.

Fishing with a hook might be loads of fun, but it sure is murderous as well whether the fish is kept or let go.

Common for hooked Makos to jump close to the boat, I've seen it a few times, but landing in the boat, adds a new dimension to sport fishing.

Nice back flip with a half twist.

Better than when that giant blue marlin leapt into the boat and stabbed the fisherman with his bill.

It was several years ago.

Maybe this was it.

If you don’t want it in the boat, don’t fish for it.

I caught an alligator gar once. When I saw what was on my line, I threw a two hundred dollar rod-reel combo overboard, whole schemer tossed. Don’t want it. Hubby even laughed at me doing so, and I guess it was acceptable to him.

Those things are ugly and fierce looking.

Easy catch. Wish all fish just jumped into the boat
