Electric cars will eventually be used like golf carts to go shopping locally when gas cars are retired. They will be restricted to a local area by remote control via 5G. There will be no point in owning a car. They will all look like mini Coopers or smaller. Most will be glorified golf carts. You will stay in your neighborhood. Ebikes and scooters will also be the norm. In 20 years, if we are still around, their will be no cars like we have now.
