Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Tropics waking up. 2 potential storms approaching US in the coming weeks. 1st, an area of low pressure in the western Caribbean will cross the Yucatan Peninsula in the next few days and then intensify in the 86+ degree gulf waters. The storm is projected to make land fall just south of the TX/MX border on the 09/04 with sustained winds of over 90 mph(cat 2 hurricane). [ link to www.ventusky.com (secure)] 2nd, a tropical wave in the mid atlantic is expected to approach and travel up the eastern seaboard and make a potential landfall in Long Island, NY. It is forecasted to intensify to cat 2 as it nears Florida, [ link to www.ventusky.com (secure)] but weaken to a TS before landfall on 09/10. [ link to www.ventusky.com (secure)] For now the TX coast should keep watch on the 1st. So far the TS seasons has been far less than predicted. Hope it stays that way.
