You can also look at this as a DOUBLE price increase as the general pattern is a price cut right around this time in a gaming device life cycle. So it's about $100-150 more than it might have been at this time without the same economic environment. They might even have already prepped a new model by now in the past (for release next year essentially). It's very very weird for sure. Hilariously enough it's already obsolete and that's pretty sad. Moore's law has gone crazy. My PC I built recently for not much more can do about 4x as much, plus productivity as a PC. I COULD mine crypto (I won't). :memorybanner: |

It's unprecedented in the lifecycle of a gaming platform. INFJ/Conservative Artist |

It's unprecedented in the lifecycle of a gaming platform. I won't call myself a "gamer" but I love some games. They have been a huge impact in my life from a storytelling and problem solving perspective. But I love the outdoors. I love to touch grass lol. I do many mile hikes and weeks or months on end outdoor adventures. That being said I put 300 hours into Elden Ring this year haha it was up there with the best books I've ever read as one of those experiences that I had with many other people via multiplayer. But like I also described BFD the PC I just made is way more powerful. That didn't used to be the case either, not to this extent at least. I think we're hitting a wall so to speak. :memorybanner: |

They've already released their biggest first party PS4 games and a couple ps5 games on PC through steam. Consoles ARE going bye bye, unless Nintendo stays in. Nintendo is like this genius company that understands as long as they use their characters, people will buy anything and more than once per household lol Super interesting. Nintendo is fucking invincible! And they thus far have not conformed to the woke mob so more power to them. They made a handheld hybrid when people said handhelds were dead and it's catching up to PS2 for sales. :memorybanner: |

There's some great games you just can't play anywhere else. |
