Lost my job paying $80-$100k (depending on OT) in January because I refused to take vaccine. Went along with weekly testing for like 6 months but then my employee changed the policy each week and eventually made us go on our time off and refused to pay for it even though it was a condition of employment. That is illegal, so I refused.

And now work on and off for an old friend doing handyman work and get paid more to start then I made hourly after 10+ years at my previous job. Fuck the rat race. If you ever wanted to escape, now is the time. Go full time side hustle, spend more time with family, etc. trust me, you’ll regret not doing so very soon. Something wicked this way comes…

You don't have to make wages. You can work directly making something from nothing and putting it directly to use on your family.

They call this subsistence.

Sitting around doing nothing IS being a loser.

(OP, making something from nothing is hard work. but it's possible. It might be harder work than making wages)

I completely understand if you want to clock out of the wage slave life. Weve all been lied too. The game is rigged. This isnt the 50s, 60s, 70s anymore. Its a completely different climate and a normal 9-5 isnt the same.

You wont see any judgement from me at all. I know how hard it is out there. The stupid ass baby boomers ruined it for you. They wanna pay you x amount and you to work beyond that. Screw that BS!

Each generation passes, every 15 years, it gets worse and worse in terms of immorality. It's 2022, what does that mean? We have a bunch of immoral bosses and leaders. Its okay if you dont want to work under them, they probably stress you the hell out for no reason.

Youre not a loser in my eyes if you clock out of the wage slave life. The only ones who are losers are the ones who are participating in it. The ones who are calling you a loser are on some type of pharm meds, anti stress, anti anxiety, sleeping pills, anti depressants, double vaxxxed cause "i need this job," imagine some sickly mfer with heart problems and mental problems who is slaving in the 9-5 wage slave grind calling you a loser lmao

You have no idea how this has affected me. Been searching for a job for over a year and nothing. I have money and getting by but 8 feel like a loser when I think that no one wants my value though I've done so for fortune 50 companies for the past 2.5 decades... I sit in bed wondering whats wrong with me so depressed...

I have always been an insanely hard working person. It's just in my nature: work, for pay for living and in my spare time. Always something to do and get done.

But I checked out sometime this summer and am not eager to engage in my pay work. It all seems so silly now.

Why do my job? To what end? Outside of now offering me just enough pay to keep me and my family's head above water?

Work for pay has lost its luster, literally. With inflation I'm back to barely getting by when I had just moved back into the firm middle class.

If I was only doing this work for the extra pay why not do literally anything else? I could work as a mid-level store manager and make about the same. If I made a little less I would dodge the massive tax increase in my income bracket coming next year.

It's almost as if they're purposely demoralizing the hard workers who kept this country going the past few years.

I hear ya being an hourly worker. I run 4-10's and till wife got sick years ago I wouldn't have ever DREAMED of working for the man... but I still strive to break free. I started a sid ecompany in security doing what I have always loved. I make 4x on the hour of my "job", but the work is here n there.... but still working towards such freedom.

Don't give up your day job, it's what TPTB want you to do! Also don't join in the mindset of a "job" being a "career".

A job is much more than a paycheck!

A job defines your purpose in life, other than eating, pooping, sleeping.

A job gives you a feeling of self worth, and accomplishment. A job helps you appreciate all the material things you have. The sweat of your face gives your possessions a much greater value than getting that junk for free.

Dirty, hard working hands always makes your food taste better!

The things you give to your children are always more meaningful to both of you, if you’ve worked to aquire them.

Free support from the government destroys all of this, while making you an indirect slave, a piece of property they can do with you as they please.

Ask any Russian alive that was alive during the Soviet era what they think about a job, and work.

I have a job, a purpose, and a reason for getting out of bed every day, it’s who I am, and I wouldn’t have it any other way!

A couple of quotes that I like:

"A good work ethic benefits the master more than the slave."

"Nobody on his death bed wishes he had spent more time in the office."

I've always viewed work as nothing more than a means to an end. It's a way to fund your life and invest for retirement.

Work = money. That's it. I've never liked a job, I've never had a passion for a job. I don't care about my boss, my coworkers, or the work that I do. I just pretend that I do so that I'll continue to be paid.

In my younger days I used to think this same way. But the older I've gotten the more my viewpoint changed. You know sound like an entitled lazy human. You want the benefits of people working but you don't wanna work yourself. This is why my wages have gone up dramatically in the last 12 months. People like you won't come work so they pay me more to pick up the slack.
