I'm from the Great Lakes region and NYS Finger lakes region as well .

We've been told Glacier's dug and scraped out these Finger Lakes .

Well , food for thought . All the Finger lakes are different depths .

Seneca lake being the deepest .So deep the US NAVY has a Sonar outpost platform in the deepest part that is tethered by anchors . it's purpose , to send Sonar messages to Sub Fleets as far away as Ireland rom a lake in Western NYS .

I believe the great lake , also different sized Depths were NOT formed by Glacier's .

If they were we would still be able to witness the Huge rocks that were dragged throught them . lake ontario , the last lake has no sign of boulder size rock . All the beaches are pebbles that look just like quarry waste .

The Finger lakes are aquafer's from cold springs at their bottoms , which filled the valleys they rest in .

Most of the Finger lakes have a shale beach and are remenecent of quarry waste .

Just like I believe the St. Lawrence Sea way was quarried .

If you have been there it is very obvious that machine lines from scraping the lime stone wall / edges are visible to the eye .
