Anonymous Coward User ID: 82295777 United States 08/18/2022 06:01 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I remember in the summer of ‘70, I was a young teen and I got box from my friend full of random stuff. In it, there was this 8-track cartridge. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 84032095 I had a deck in my room so needless to say, I listened to it quite a few times, almost wore out the tape. I don’t know what happened to the cartridge, was probably thrown out. I Never thought I would see or hear about it ever again, then a thread here a few days ago mentioned something about them. I stared searching the web and was able to track down and get the name of the one I had. Even more surprising, I discovered someone uploaded it online in great quality. I still remember that same artwork. It brings back a lot of memories listening to it now in my old age. Big Daddy Don Garlits hot rod bubble gum cards. Bat kites. Wham-O toys like the monster bubble maker. Cool Mattel toys with 800 degree ovens and Plasti-goop to make Creepy Crawlers. Marx trains where the transformers would start smoking and catch on fire if you ran them at high speed too long. Lawn Darts, one of the best Darwin toys of the era. |

That and running along the side of freight trains and jumping on for transportation. A few times were really close, but my homies and I never got caught. We'd run on top the cars and moon intersections. The 70's were so fun. Embrace your creative side before you die. |

GOD User ID: 80330863 United States 08/18/2022 07:38 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Zero to minuscule numbers of minorities at the malls, major stores, amusement parks and state parks. 60's: I remember 'colored only' drinking fountains, 'colored entrance in back' and ' no coloreds allowed' signs in my town. the town I grew up in also had railroad tracks right through the center of it. Whites on one side, Blacks and very poor whites on the other side. They did not call them 'Blacks' back then. Hence the old phrase " you grew up on the wrong side of the tracks." It’s completely unsexy and cringe. So you were just supposed to pop one of these in your Ford Pinto right after work? Lol Not gonna lie, it gave me semi You also have to remember that back then we didn’t have internet, HD screen, instant access porn, etc... hell, most people didn’t even have film reels or projectors, so no home movies. VHS wasn’t even out. You had to take what you got! I’m surprised at some of that languages used in that clip. I really thought anal sex was more of a recent fetish, she’s talking about taking it up the ass and they’re rude af to each other lol. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 83600284 United States 08/18/2022 08:24 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | You want obscure? I was a huge fan of NOT BRAND ECCH comics by Marvel. They only published 12 issues, starting in 1967. It was a satirical parody comic where they poked fun at their own Marvel superheroes. I had kept my issues, eventually gave them to my nephew in the 90's after he saw them and thought they were cool. . |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 83600284 United States 08/18/2022 08:30 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | More obscure? Funny Face drinks. Powdered sugar drink mixes in packages, like Kool Aid, started in 1964. They had cartoon characters like Freckle Face Strawberry, Goofy Grape, Rootin' Tootin' Raspberry, Loudmouth Lime... TWO OF THE CHARACTERS WERE RACIAL STEREOTYPES AND HAD TO BE CHANGED. They were CHINESE CHERRY and INJUN ORANGE. THEY WERE SOON REPLACED WITH CHOO CHOO CHERRY AND JOLLY OLLY ORANGE. Chinese Cherry was pictured with slant eyes and buck teeth. |
