Set up your own Shopify or Big Commerce website.

There are all kinds of auction where you can consign things that you want to sell. I think most have a flat fee, but it's around the same amount of money as If you sold it on ebay.


Craigslist even charges if you sell a lot of stuff.

What not Auctions. All though I dont know if you would make any more money.

The auctions are live feeds from a webcam. You sell the item in a few minutes instead of days.

I've heard items sell for a bit less than ebay but that's only with the specific items I deal with.

You tried to sell them too FAST.

Ebay is okay for selling....Just list them at a decent price and let them take a few years to sell at the reasonable price, if it takes that long.

I list as auction, with a starting price that is acceptable to me. If it doesn't sell, just relist forever until it sells. I used only free ebay listings though.

It's normal to pay someone 30% commission to sell anything rather low priced for you, so ebay is not overly expensive as a rule.

Look into Mercari. It's like ebay. I've only used it to buy things, not sell. So I don't know about the fees, but seems quite pleasant. I find stuff on there that I can't find anywhere else.

Bonanza, Mercari, offerup, etc. are alternatives but don't have nearly as big of a userbase

Yeah, ebay fees should only be around 12% in total. They include tax now too in the price, which is added after the fact.
