Re: Are you afraid to read the Bible?
"Afraid?" Get a life NOW instead of constantly counting on your next one.

I read the Bible cover-to-cover when a still a teen in the 60's and [just like the Warren Report I read at the same time] quickly found it to be riddled with anachronisms, contradictions and deductions; prophecies which were nothing more than the products of dreams, visions, inner voices... and total deception.

And as I returned to those pages several times during my adult life that analysis hasn't changed one iota, nor has my disdain for those so desperate for affirmation they center their entire lives around a book that has never been more than fiction.

So, "calling all Christians!" Come hither and put this non-believer in his place; pound him down to the depths of his own iniquities and let the shrieking admonitions of the faithful once again attempt to drown out the perceptions of the more rational among us.

Just remember this: the more strident you are, the more you will prove my point.

No, just a bit repulsed by it. The Oahspe Bible is much more to my liking.

Re: Are you afraid to read the Bible?
No. Not at all. In fact, it is a daily essential and one of the first things
I do in the morning. 4 chapters from 4 different books each day. This takes
me through the full bible in one year.

I prefer the NASB as it is widely regarded as the most accurate rendering
of the original texts.

If you are a hater of God, your life is probably already quite miserable.

Consider a change.

Dude the words of JC is only a handful of chapters/pages the NT is basically almost entirely written by Paul. I take that with a huge grain of salt. Should I take him seriously like the OT? Hell no.

Re: Are you afraid to read the Bible?
Lets be realistic. The Bible is written in such a language and format that it puts most people to sleep. The people and places are so far removed from our time it has no frame of reference.

We can easily scan the notes and takeaway the golden rule, ten commandments and various other parables without wasting time and mental resources sifting through irrelevant garbage.

Re: Are you afraid to read the Bible?
I have read the whole thing.. OT and NT... Other than statements made in the OT IMMANUEL was coming... that is not about Jesus.

so why do you use the word BIBLE... when only the 2nd part is about him?

there are many many errors in it. How much of it is IN GREEK and NOT in the aramaic he spoke.. something to consider.. How about dark shits fucking it up on purpose.. You ones have got to THINK.

For starters your sky god did not have just one Son... Jillions of them walk the creation. Jillions of ONLY BEGOTTEN HUMANS alone that have become Sovereign Beings.. of the I AM..

The I AM IS SELF AWARE CONSCIOUSNESS in a nutshell. I AM THAT I AM..

Most people are afraid to what their reality, but there are any others that too stupid to understand anything. There are many levels of IQ, and it recuirers in order to get it right, to learn history, to undertands the meaning of it, the necessary changes , the reasons, the test, the conditions in it, The fails, The redemptions, the rebelions, the punish, the rejections, the promises, the salvation,The rebelds, and the deception, The blindness. John 12:40
"He has blinded their eyes and hardened their hearts, so they can neither see with their eyes, nor understand with their hearts, nor turn - and I would heal them." 2 Corinthians 4:4
The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.
Matthew 23:16-19
“Woe to you, blind guides! 1 John 2:11
But anyone who hates a brother or sister is in the darkness and walks around in the darkness. They do not know where they are going, because the darkness has blinded them."

Some are afraid of the violence. They would not choose to watch excessively violent movies and for same reason choose not to read the Bible.

Not at all.

It's just that the Bible is 99% boring AF.

It has a few good bits, though.

Like Psalms 19:1
