The Federal Government warned those states two months ago that they had 60 days to reach an agreement on sharing and cutting back on use of the Colorado River water system. No progress has been made. Several states had actually come to an agreement of sorts, but then California refused to participate on a water use reduction plan. Now the Feds are moving in and the states are looking at a possible 30% cut in water usage right out the gate. Farmers have taken the larger hit so far, but now the emphasis will be on residential cutbacks. More to read at the link.
