Typically strats and teles either have 7.25 to 9.5" radius which I do not like. You want a flat and wider neck than that and then you will be good to go. Great looking tele man, you enjoy that thing bro! |

Not only is the tele one of the most versatile guitars tone-wise, but is rumored to be the best guitar to have in a bar fight. Enjoy your new friend, and remember what guitarist John McLaughlin said: "Music is the language of the soul". Edited to add 5 -star rating for guitar content on GLP! More, more... The acoustic is an Epiphone, a friend lent it to me about 3 years ago, he moved away and told me I could keep it since he had more guitars. https://imgur.com/a/74VZdtO Last Edited by LTHN. on 08/16/2022 11:58 AM "A wise man listens to the message and uses his logic and discernment to process it, a fool negates the message by prejudging the messenger." They make custom guitars and necks which you can spec the radius and nut width on. Also have a look at learning the classical guitar. It's supposed to be played with one foot raised and cradled in between your legs held ina more upright position to over come the wide nut width. Forget yamaha guitars as they tend to be a bit more narrow. |

Thanks! Bought off the rack at Guitar Center. Back in the day I played a custom Jackson that I'd ordered from the factory... serial #1189. Wish I still had it just because it was such an early Jackson, but, sometimes you have to sell things you don't want to in order to survive, when you're young. This one cost 1/3 of that one, and I'd rate it a nearly equal guitar. Last Edited by ScrumpTheTexan on 08/16/2022 02:23 PM I am a Christian. Schecter quality is quite good, too bad about you have to sell the Jackson, I had to do that with my 6 month old 50 watt custom tube head Port City Pearl amp and my slant 4 x 12 Mesa cab when my financial situation hit a wall some months back. Sad day, but it got me back on financial track. https://imgur.com/a/fvWhfhJ "A wise man listens to the message and uses his logic and discernment to process it, a fool negates the message by prejudging the messenger." Anonymous Coward User ID: 83898963 United Kingdom 08/16/2022 02:53 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I’m super hyped !!! Quoting: LTHN. I started learning guitar a few years back, but the nut width on the guitar was too narrow for the size of my hand, fingers always touching the next string when playing chords, really frustrating and finally gave up and sold the guitar. Found a company that makes wide nut guitars, they had a telecaster model with a 1 7/8” nut width, and a dude was selling one on Kijiji for a good price, bought this morning. What a difference!!! Eager to get back to learning to play, the guitar is brand new shape, and the seller had a luthier upgrade the pickups. Sweet! [imgur] [link to imgur.com (secure)] Great that you can play it. I've been in peoples houses and they have them on the wall and can't play them...how sad. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 83605245 Dude...how on earth do you know what radius he'd like when you have no idea what he plays or what his style is? 12'+ radii fretboards have only come into vogue with the modern metal, shredding crowd. If you dont regularly play more than full step bends then an old school radius on a tele is gonna be just fine with most folks. I like them too, I have a stable of prestige RG's at 16", but telling some stranger on the internet he needs a big radius just because he bought a tele is silly. |
