Remember Flag-Pole Sitting?

My grandma had a picture of a guy sitting on top of a flagpole, I always wondered what the hell it was all about.

They were still doing it when I was a kid.

They would have an announcer on the radio giving updates on some idiot atop a pole. The car had a radio, and it was AM. :)

I used to wonder how they went to the bathroom up on the pole.
Probably better that they were not televised. :)
