If you can reasonably identify who lost the money then you have a responsibility to give it to it's owner or it's stealing. About 15 years ago I went to the grocery store for a loaf of bread. While standing in line this woman came up on the verge of tears. She asked it anyone had found a bracelet. No one had and her eyes welled as she walked out. It was kind of sad. I paid for my bread and as I was getting in my truck I happened to look down and saw this absolutely beautiful diamond bracelet. I gleamed so in the sun. I was awestruck by it. I looked about the parking lot and she was standing outside of her suburban crying to herself. I walked over to her and asked her if she had lost this. She took it from my hand and looked at for a second threw her arms around me and hugged me very tight. She was skinny and she hugged me so tight I could feel her bones. She then asked me what my name was and my address. I gave it to her then she emptied out her purse and gave me all the cash she had. (about $35) A week later I got a nice thank you card and a check for $100. I don't think they guy who lost his wallet is going to give any reward. He seemed pretty poor. I could be wrong. Anyway I love finding money. Found a dollar last time I mowed my yard. Well, I didn't find it as much as my mower chopped it up into pieces which I then saw and had to hunt them all down. Finding money and getting a free puzzle to complete before you can spend it. |
