Re: Can anyone identify this little bird
We rescued him from the jaws of our Catahoula and have been raising him/her.
We can’t find a positive I’d through any of our apps and it still uses baby talk mostly so the sound apps can’t find it either. We’re working on letting it go but would like to know what it is.

We are in the Arkansas Ozarks. Lots of Trees, oaks, pines. Anyone know?

It’s a plain little bird. Not much in the way of identifying markings.

It looks like a tanager in shape but the beak is black and it has no yellow on its top feathers or any red. It’s legs are black. But it’s close. I’m saying you may be right.

Is it a fresh coconut or one that’s been washed up in the tide. I think we have to account for water retention. As it were.

She has a flock of peacocks and an aviary which includes an emu!

I'm guessing she has a library of bird books.

I right clicked the image and selected "Search image with Google Lens". It gave me about 30 birds that look similar, non of which I have heard of or are native to the US.

Is there a bird ID app where you take a couple photos of the bird and it identifies it for you? There must be. Not that it would be reliable.

How about a Brown winged Schiffornis?
