Ninety years ago, Joseph Stalin’s Soviet regime inflicted a devastating famine on Ukraine, killing 3.9 million people in what became known as the Holodomor, or genocide by hunger.

Now Vladimir Putin, whose invasion has stalled on the battlefield, is trying to starve Ukraine into submission again.

Russian troops have laid waste to farmland, destroying agricultural equipment and planting landmines in the rich soil where crops should grow. Ukraine’s traditional supply routes have been wrecked, its ports now under Russian control. In the besieged city of Mariupol — where 170,000 people are still struggling to survive — food had virtually run out by March 13. Aid convoys have not made it through.

"The only interpretation is that [the Russians] want to create hunger and to use this method as a method of aggression," the EU's agriculture commissioner, Janusz Wojciechowski, said. "It is similar method that was used in 1930s by Soviet regime against Ukrainian people.”

Ukraine is “a country that’s gone from breadbasket to breadlines,” said the WFP’s Executive Director David Beasley. “Reaching the 40 million people inside Ukraine is our gravest concern. If we don’t reach them, obviously they starve to death.”

The greatest problem for Ukraine’s food production may be longer term. It will likely take years for the country’s farm sector to recover from the invasion, especially if its ability to trade remains compromised.

No, you read a book, dumbass. Kah-za-riya was in modern day Georgia and mostly likely parts of Armenia, Azerbaijan, and southern Russia. Ancient Ukraine was under occupation by the Kah-zar empire, and the formation of the ancient Ukrainian state and the modern Ukrainian/Russian bloodline started with Viking royalty destroying Kah-zar-ia, and then mixing with the local slavic tribes, thus creating the Ukrainian bloodline. And that ancient Ukrainian state, Kiev Rus, predates all other slavic civilizations, including Russia. Ukraine wasn’t Kah-zar for centuries after that, and only became slightly Kah-zar centuries later, due to the Russian empire putting the Kah-zar’s in there as skilled laborers and administrators. Not to mention the Kaz-ars were scattered throughout Ancient Ukraine and Russia due to the destruction of their nearby empire. You do some research, dumb fuck.

You have no idea what you’re talking about if you think Ukraine is Israel 2.0. It’s an ancient slavic homeland, as well as an ancient homeland of the white race. Ancient Ukraine is also one of the oldest known civilizations in the world, thousands of years before Kiev Rus even. It is to the point where archeological finds prove that the textbooks are wrong, and Ukraine is actually one of the prime candidates for being the true Cradle of Civilization. Then the rabbit hole goes even deeper than that, with the mystery surrounding the Cimmerians (the mysterious inhabitants of Ukraine
before recorded history, who are the likely progenitors of the white race, and have Biblical links to “Gomer”. Then the rabbit hole goes deeper still, with the mysterious Cucuteni–Trypillia civilization that occupied pre-history Ukraine, the remnants of which basically prove conclusively that Ukraine is the cradle of civilization.

Ukraine is a rabbit hole alright, that much is true. But it’s not ka-zar-ia, and it’s not even “Russian”, considering that Russia got its name from the “Kiev Rus” civilization that predates modern Russia. And Russia was only formed after the Mongols invaded and destroyed Kiev Rus. Got it?
