If one were to hit the earth as one did in the 1800’s could be strong enough to cause the same EMP effect.
Our sun is even capable of solar flares that could reach out far enough to scorch the surface of the earth and burn away our atmosphere. Exactly how the end times are described in the Bible.

I really want one of those solar powered big batteries (like a Jackery). Pop it in a faraday with some tools, radio, etc. Super handy

My grandfather (who was a rocket engineer for Rocketdyne - (Apollo through Challenger missions)) made me promise to never live anywhere near that gulf. Before he became a rocket engineer/ he was an oil prospector - very rough and tough charector - (there was nothing mechanical that he could not fix). He signed non-disclosure statement's @ AeroJet) so I don't know "why" it is unsafe - (but I suspect it is cracked and leaking under there) - and that it is an extra dangerous area - due to potential hurricanes (and maybe even attacks). Having traveled to central America - that area on tha side is like a honeycomb. Who knows what lies under the water in the "gulf of mexico?" - just sharing w/GLP - nobody else cares about this $h1t - (and it's kinda important).

When the vehicles are killed by the EMP, a lot of them will be on the road. So you might have to move a bunch of cars off the road or find a way around them.

ALso might be the odd jetliner crashed on the road.

Oddly, I just checked my Jackery last night and after months of storage it is still 100 percent charged. I used it to charge a laptop and I want to bring it down to 80 percent because I heard that those batteries should not be stored at 100 percent.

However, I didn’t know about the cardboard inside the trash can. Thanks for mentioning it. I’d like to know more about that. I have it inside a metal trash can with metal taped seams, but I didn’t know about the liner.
