hello i hope you get to answer me
I've got a 1995 toyota avalon 390,000 miles 80k of them i put on in less than a year. i commute across 3 states for work.
engine light is on for catalytic converter and some solinoids so is the override light it flashes
i bought it for 950 bucks with all the lights on in-fact in the same condition it is in now. it pretty much drives the exact same as when i bought it.
only thing i NEEDED to replace has been a quick strut and lower control arm from repeatedly hitting this very deep pot hole on the same wheel over the course of my driving it.
is there anything i should do to keep it on the road i regularly change the oil and i regularly check all fluids.
oh and can i pull off and trash the metal cover on the exahaust?
Quoting: Anonymous Coward 79495032 I'd replace the cat before it disintegrates or causes an obstruction which will leave you stranded. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 12524540 i already fixed this problem by punching a huge hole before the cat i need to get in there and remove the fancy metal heat sheild that is on the entire exhaust system but its so old and rusted i'll have to cut it off Quoting: Anonymous Coward 79495032 You need that heat shield it keeps the heat from the cat/exhaust from affecting the plastic/rubber components in the engine bay. Go to Pick ur part and get another one or try ebay. A new one will break your bank account.
