The 2010-2012 Panamera, Panamera S, Panamera 4S and Panamera Turbo have a recall regarding camshaft controllers (phasers) coming loose. This will cause the engine to stall. See NHSTSA campaign number 17V368000.

P0021 references camshaft position A timing over advance Bank 2. Looking at cylinder configuration for Porsche Bank 1 is on the right side. Cylinder numbering is like Ford with cylinders numbered front to back, 1234 on the right bank and 5678 on the left bank.

You may have broken adjuster bolts.

I'm trying to change the blade on my Circular Saw .

I have the right allen key , have used lube.

And locked the blade , but I can't get it to budge.

Suggestions?

Use a deep well socket and extension, or pliars to get more leverage on the Allen, and remember they are reverse thread!

Righty loosy lefty tightly. Basically to loosen the bolt in the opposite direction of the saw's rotation.

I bought a Bintelli light electric vehicle. Licensed and street legal. Runs on 12v? Batteries, like car batteries.

If shortages are coming, should I buy extra batteries now, or would they go bad in a year?
 Quoting: humbird

Batteries are ticking down to their demise the moment they're made. Whether you use them or not they're going to expire eventually.
 Quoting: DieselTech

What if I were to dump / siphon all the liquid out, and flush it with water? Then store it dry?

Seriously though, what about keeping said battery on a trickle charger?

And further, is the continual cycle of discharging / recharging what eventually kills a battery?

Proper storage and charging can offset it a little bit but lead acid batteries just don't store well due to sulfation.

What's the most obvious reason my lawn mower will only run on choke and what do to two adjustment screws, with stops, on top of the carburetor regulate?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 72662529

Clogged fuel filter. Gelified alcohol from the gas tank can clog it up. Remove fuel filter and blow it out.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 84015231

Will try it. I recently replaced the filter but there was some bad fuel in the line, which also had to be replaced. Could be defective filter too I suppose.
Thanks
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 72662529

You're welcome.

I had this same problem not long ago. I had to blow out the filter, run the mower until it clogged again and repeat 3 or 4 times until all of the gel was out of my tank and lines.

Of course that was after I replaced the carburetor, haha. It was only $20 bucks though.

I am going to pay the $6 a gallon for ethanol free gasoline for my small engines from now on.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 84015231

The filter was pretty bad but didn't solve my problem. Mower runs "better" but still runs only on choke, although more smoothly now, and dies when blade is engaged. I guess I'll try cleaning the carb tomorrow. The valve on the float was sticking a while back because the bowl had dried out. Was hoping sea foam would help clean it out and lubricate.

Search you tube for carb repair and the model mower you have.

You no doubt have a clogged fuel port inside the thing.

Did you check the filter again after the initial cleaning? I had to blow mine out 3 or 4 times before all of the gel was out of my tank and lines.

Cleaning the carb is always a good idea though anyways and replacements are cheap on ebay.

Good luck.

i may at some point want to rebuild my engine (2010 toyota corolla)

how hard is this? it's a matter of replacing parts like rings, etc, isn't it?

if i buy a rebuild kit would it come with instructions

i do have the service manual which gives various procedures like removing the engine, replacing a ring probably, etc
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 43815060

You will need several thousand dollars in tools you DO NOT already have.
Your best most economic move is to find a wrecked Corolla with a good low miles engine
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 84014134

i have a good amount of tools, socket sets, wrenches etc

don't have a micrometer .. or very specialized tools

also i don't have an engine crane or a stand, an engine crane is about $250, an engine stand probably about $150

Sounds good in theory but that stuff in a concentrated form might cause damage to internal seals and other softer materials in the fuel system.

I wouldn't do it. If you really want to clean you injectors a good shop will have a machine to run cleaner through them under higher pressure than what your normal fuel system has.

I would go that route even though it will cost more, maybe a lot less expensive in the long run.

I had that problem with a Honda 2200i generator. Turns out it was a clogged fuel filter. Problem is the fuel filter is inside the fuel line, disguised as a hose union. To get at it the whole front indicator panel with receptacles needs to come off from the main part of the generator, not disconnected though.

The first time it happened to me, I naturally took it to the local authorized service center, and it came back the same way and $60 later. Turns out they didn't know about the fuel filter either.

I was just going to mention Steves Small Engine Saloon.

His video on Stihl's chainsaw gas has very informative. Gasoline from the filling station should be renamed, benzene.
I was so impressed that I bought a lot of it, mainly because I like the cans. Only mixed gas goes into my chainsaw gas cans. When I run my saw, you can definitely notice the smell of paraffin wax.

Turns out Porsche thought it was a good idea to use aluminum bolts on the camshaft phasers.

Aluminum is a very weak metal for a bolt. They tend to be used as safety fuses to protect components in the event of a failure. The augur on a snow blower has an aluminum bolt that's designed to shear if it eats a rock so the gearbox doesn't get damaged.

However in this case they are loosening up and breaking.

Call your Porsche Dealer and see if your car is covered under the campaign. They'll pay to fix it or they will fix it free.

I had an old CRX hf that struggled with the AC on. People don't realize how much power they consume until they use it in a small car.

What year is your car? Has it ever had a tune up an the air and fuel filters changed?
