I got offered a good job to work there from October through May of next year.

Looks like rent is affordable in this town called Willotson.

I like to go hiking in the winter, should be fun to get outdoors.

if your going to Williston, is it for the oil industry?

Williston is a shit hole, nothing to do there. The oil industry killed the housing market. nothing available

Re: Thinking about moving to North Dakota. I'm from Texas. Anything I should know?
Here's a clue on how cold it gets there in the winter. If there is an electrical plug-in for each parking place, it is F**king cold there in the winter! The reason they have those is so you can plug your car engine warmer in while you grocery shop, or go into a restaurant/bar, and it will start again when you come out. Places that cannot afford to provide the electricity, use the "good 'ol boy" rule that you leave your vehicle running while inside. If you don't do this, your car will not start because it freezes up.

My Rule: Do NOT live in places that have these plug-in in front of parking places. It means it is way too cold for me to be happy!!!

Its literally winter 9 months out of the year, be prepared for seriously cold weather.

Its been taken over by immigrants with the last oil boom.

Its not what it used to be.

I second that. Never met a Texan transplant that wasn't a walking safety hazard and an egotistical maniac. The bonus is they will accept any and every job available no matter how dangerous.

Move to South Dakota.

More to do, more interesting state, and pretty much same price to live as N. Dakota.

Hope you like snow!
