We all know Trump himself did not pack the documents, Trump himself ordered declassification but his team administratively performed declassification, we know trump admin was ignorant and had been taken advantage of by fbi visit to the young admin charging Flynn …was trump team packing up documents purposefully allowed to pack those documents taking advantage of ignorance?

That is true, and I wonder what is the truth behind the padlock that supposedly trump said he was directed to place on the door. The other point that is important is if it was unclassified. From what I understand typically the president and DNI work together to catalog specific documents to be declassified. In this case Trump declassified specific categories of documents without the DNI (which is perfectly in his power), and from what I understand because of this some documents are unclassified, but still logged as classified with past/current DNI and NARA. So that could present problems there.

Because if 100 similar boxes were packed and moved to mara-lago and placed in a basement no one would ever really know. With that said, the question comes with what happened when this was subpoened earlier this year. NARA's team was there at Mara-lago while the documents were there. This makes me believe it is a he said vs she said of what is classified and not classified. And lets be honest, its really tough for a President who has ultimate de-classification powers to mishandle documents illegally. Thats why no President has ever been charged before when they were in possession of classified documents many months out of office. The argument of thinking it was declassified (vs if it wasnt) will never rise to criminal intent, because it could simply have been declassified to avoid that. Its essentially the same as an avoidable process crime.

There is a process for declass. He can't simply say he declassed them. It has to be done with an announcement - presumably to reach the public at large.

He did that in Oct 2020 (Russia Spygate and Hillary's emails).
