I agree that these people cannot be fundamentally changed, but there is a great need for more understanding on the subject, and interdictory educational efforts should be put in place in the school systems - not necessarily to generate hate or fear but to infotrm everyone about a problem which in SOME cases, is not rooted in voluntary choices made by individuals.

conversion therapy is the worst thing to do to someone.

I think both democrats and republicans want some sort of therapy for individuals with things like gender dysphoria for example... just not conversion therapy which can do even more damage to the brain. The best kind of therapy is teaching someone to be comfortable in their own body and to not act out any urges to commit crimes. People who are closeted with these types of sexual preferences and sexual identities are probably more likely to commit a crime than people who are 'out of the closet'.

Maybe there are pedophiles out there that don't actually act on their urges. It is possible to learn constraint. It is possible to teach someone how to change... although change truly comes from within since you can't force someone to change.
