MRSA Superbug Infections Now Killing More Americans than AIDS
MRSA Superbug Infections Now Killing More Americans than AIDS
By David Gutierrez
NaturalNews.com, March 10, 2008
Straight to the Source

An antibiotic-resistant strain of the common staph bacteria is now responsible for more deaths in the United States than AIDS, according to a study conducted by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and published in the Journal of the American Medical Association. "This is a significant public health problem" said CDC medical epidemiologist Scott K. Fridkin. "We should be very worried."

Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) is a variant of a common bacteria species that normally causes easily-treated staph infections. While staph infections are not usually life-threatening, if untreated they can cause wounded flesh to necrotize (die), leading to painful and disfiguring abscesses. In severe cases, the bacteria can spread to other parts of the body, such as joints, bones, lungs, blood or other vital organs. This can cause potentially fatal complications, and patients so infected must be given intensive care immediately.

Because MRSA is resistant to all first-line antibiotics, it is far more dangerous than the easily treated varieties of the bacterium. And according to the CDC, MRSA infection is becoming more common.

Researchers analyzed data from nine states and concluded that 31.8 out of 100,000 U.S. residents are being infected by MRSA each year, leading to 94,360 infections and 18,650 deaths across the country. This is in comparison to 12,500 deaths from AIDS in 2005, and represents more infections than meningitis, bacterial pneumonia and flesh-eating strep put together.

"This indicates these life-threatening MRSA infections are much more common than we had thought," Fridkin said.

The CDC says that MRSA infections are most common among children and the elderly, and more common among blacks than among members of other ethnic or racial groups.

Prior studies on MRSA have concluded that health care providers could significantly reduce the spread of the disease by implementing stricter hygiene measures. Outbreaks of MRSA in prisons, schools, and other institutions have also become increasingly common.

"MRSA outbreaks are entirely the fault of the conventional medical community, which has actually encouraged the breeding of the bacteria through rampant overuse of antibiotics," said consumer health advocate Mike Adams. "The rest of the story is that MRSA is easily killed by colloidal silver, garlic, rainforest herbs and numerous other natural remedies, but the entire conventional medical community continues to pretend these substances don't exist. Thus, they refuse to embrace the actual cures for MRSA, and thousands of people are dying each year as a result. This medical catastrophe will continue for as long as doctors remain ignorant about the curative powers of natural remedies while remaining foolishly limited to the use of patented pharmaceuticals to treat all infections," Adams said.

Re: MRSA Superbug Infections Now Killing More Americans than AIDS
Blame, blame, blame - 90% of the antibiotics used in North America are used in the cattle industry, where there is the greatest opportunity for bacteria to learn resistance.

Not only that, you don't have universal health care, so people are putting honey on their buboes and furuncles.

Even so - here in the land of universal health care that the CIA is busy dismantling into two tier you die first care - lack of continuity of care and self serving schedules, poor recognition of dermatitis issues, contribute more to staph's spread than dirty hands and mommy's antibiotic ministrations.

Psychiatrists blamed mommy for schizophrenia as well, when men was first labeled the disorder. "Refrigerator mommies" they called the mother of the schizophrenic, in a catch all act of gargantuan impotent malepractice. Phallusies.

Now since the surgeon diagnosed the antibiotic resistant carbuncle on the leg as "poison oak" and gone ahead with the surgery anyway - using a gram of antibiotic in the IV as a cure all, though antibiotic does nothing for poison oak, and a 1500mg five day dose of cephalax that is doing nothing but slowing the spread of staph into the follicles.

A kind of staph/hair follicle stand off.

I need an IV high dose antibiotic, but since my doctor is away on personal leave and the doctor at the clinic is an African who only treats fistulas and thinks a bit of topical cream ought to do it, until bone exposure, and the surgeon thinks it's poison oak - I'm going to have to score some black market biaxin.

Of course in a spectacular example of murphy's law, the phone is on the fritz.

Tomorrow, I'll hunt down some IV antibiotics or something. Think I'll just take some oxycondone and go to sleep for a while. Oxycontin Capital of the world! $$$$

Big pharma are the most self righteous pushers of all.

You want rid of mrsa, stop using antibiotics for fifty years.

Altogether. I'm hunting down maggots.

Do go on, because maggots will only work on the furuncle and carbuncle types, not the infected follicles.

And then only after it's gotten to the point where even the clinic doctor would feel compelled to courage.

Re: MRSA Superbug Infections Now Killing More Americans than AIDS
Triclosan is surprisingly effective as a topical agent against staph. It's more accurate to say that all staph is resistant and some staph is more resistant than others. There is no staph left in North America that will respond to antibiotics like it did twenty years ago. Triclosan, fucidan and high dose biaxin/clarithromycin is effective. It appears clarithromycin is one of the last effective antibiotics, cephalax the great catch all - has been caught up by the vastly superior chemical communication skills of bacteria.

Interesting that Louise Hay, author of "You Can Heal Your Life" - postulates that secondary skin infections are made possible by a sense of fear of being in the world and her recommended affirmation for the condition is "It's safe to be me." Mind over matter has little impact on the singularity that is brainless, yet chemically communicative staphylococcus. There are many reasons for the break down in immunity that leads to infection. For instance, exema sufferers, suffer more secondary infection - but is it because of not feeling safe in the world - or cracked skin through which staph can enter the blood stream easily - chicken or egg question, that would be made obsolete by an effective antibiotic.

Most frustrating is the professional motivations of schedule, reputation, imperialistic dictation - specialists that are unavailable as well as the general practitioners who might recommend them. The 1% who own all the wealth decry the overpopulation that threatens their consumption - there is still more staph than humanity in the world. The golden rule of do unto others as you would have them do unto you has transformed into - He who owns the gold makes the rules. Giving staph yet another advantage. Bed bugs are also a biological indicator of the principle of relative gain: The 1% would prefer to see a drop in their own annual standard of living than a rise in everyone else's living standard.

90% of the antibiotics used in North America and just as puppies garnered more sympathy during Katrina, than did the bloated bodies decorating the now "cleaned up projects" - it seems easier for a cow to treat its staph than a person. Only pfizer is researching and developing a new antibiotic. Predictably it will be very expensive and unavailable to all but 1% of the population.

Don't try tetracycline - the famous photo sensitivity provides the opportunistic bacteria with opportunity. Micro replicates macro and 10% of bacteria good, 10% is bad and 80% can go either way. Seems applicable to human moral courage. Critical mass is so easy to attain through fear.

And it's the Age of Terror when "It's safe to be me" is felt perhaps least of all, by the 1% with all the wealth.

Well - codeine for the surgery, not the infection. And not surprisingly the surgeons lack of recognition.

One understands why the Chinese made everyone a doctor after their revolution and ate the most imperialistic snots of the papered up the ying yang elitist tradition.

The only thing that will help is another wonder cure - one wonders why laser pulse isn't used more often, and maggots.

Or a cessation of antibiotic use altogether for quite some time.

I got a question , if anyone can answer it honestly for me..

I know this is gonna sound gross...

but bear with me...

My dad has a beard... and on his cheek under the hair.. he had what appears to be a small bump... at first we thought nothing of it.. that it was probably more than likely an infected hair follicle/ ingrown hair..

Well anyways he had my mom squeeze it.. and it popped a little.. and from what she , and my dad said.. it had the most God-awful smell .. like a bad-feet smell.. kind of putrid...

Reading this thread.. it has me kind of concerned..because I have never experienced , nor heard of it actually smelling like that...

Any ideas...? could it possibly be staph ? or.. am I jumping to conclusions.?

Thanks all..

Ok in honor of GLP's vast array of home cures - and China's revolution that made every man a doctor. And the sinus cavity seems a likely place to harbor microbes - I'm combining oil pulling with the antibiotic, internal and topical, regime.

Sunflower with a few drops of oil of oregano. Maybe I'll throw in some garlic. Keep away the cabin pentagon audition winning death wishing vampires.

"It's safe to me, It's safe to me."

The biaxin is working - but cephalax didn't touch it, tetracycline didn't touch it and apo amoxicillin seemed to embolden it.

Not 500mg a day either, try 500 mg every six hours. As a lifelong exema sufferer it's not the first secondary staph infection I've ever had - but it's the toughest.

Ok, the military rejected them - so now they're a rag tag group of corporafasci mercenaries.

Who knows - all I know is there is no staph left that was like the staph twenty years ago. And the Age of Terror is perfect for it.

Given the chemical memory and transference of bacteria - the singularity of being that is its strength - everything is a race against new antibiotics.

One imagines the staph will get quicker at developing resistance as well. Some other of treating bacterial infections - must be a protein or viral thing.

Most amazing is the doctor who thought staph furuncles were pimples. The surgeon who didn't want to interfere with his schedule and called a closed over carbuncle poison oak and the staph infected hair follicles a rash.

If the doctors don't even recognize this infection, we're screwed. Luckily I know a doctor who respects my opinion, an extreme rarity. And that's why the Chinese ate the imperialist papered up the ying yang fascist dotes.

Well, it's all cleared up. Except for the two pea sized hardened welts that look like raised spider bites that were the original point of infection.

The follicles are cleared up. And the spreading rash on the legs has cleared up - all but the original two. That quad spent ten years in the hospital, it might have been him. Or it could have been anything.

They have been there since the cabin pentagon psychic audition winning death wishers retracted their little posting of my emails in favor of lambasting in absentia on another board.

Negative intent prayer - is bound to muster up some bad karma. So I never do it, but have prayed my sucker punch enemies get what they need. Sneaky death wishers.

Of course, those of little faith and less imagination would imagine that means victory - evil can never triumph - but it actually means, they'll get what is best for them.

In this case one hopes it's triumph of all those Western principles that gave birth to the highest democratic ideals. Socrates did not die with his injunction that man must follow his higher conscience, even when it contradicts the State's laws. And Spartacus inspired even Nazis, those few who rebelled and suffered horrible fates in kangaroo courts before the end of the war.

Higher principles than negative intent prayer and it's petty motivations shall prevail. Patience is a virtue. And some things are worse than dying - like living a 'greatly diminished downloaded life' being slowly eaten alive by mrsa, without the funds to treat it.

Tomorrow - we'll see Dr Chan - there's approximately two days left of biaxin and everyone knows the Chinese are smarter. One hopes he's not an imperialistic type who is adamant about deserving that fascist symbol of corporafasci co-oping - the Olympics.

Some things are worse than dying, like thinking oneself fit to judge others. Or waiting to die to see. The hardest heart penetrated by the gaze of Hildegaard's Goddess at the rivers vortex of tha cold whirlpool of souls destined for hell.

That's worse mrsa - it's going to get better, because Mari is my name saint - and the only thing left now, is the rosary, mrsa, it sounds like throwing oneself at her mercy.

I can easily see why more Americans are dying from mrsa than AIDs now. With no health care, and without the money to treat it. It's insidious, 90% of all the antibiotics in North America are used in the cattle industry.

We've burnt down the rainforest and given ourselves superbugs for big macs. The louise hay affirmation for skin infections "It's safe to be me" is so appropriate now that the last of principled society has frayed to the dollar. Everyone a sub-Saharan fistula. It's always safe to be just - because man is not fed on big macs alone.

Dr Chan was eminently sympathetic. He recognized the infection immediately and prescribed some meds. He will follow up next week and it it's not completely gone we will try another class of drugs. And he's cute.

No longer alone, a referral to a dermatologist is one the way - Except for the American "rats and flies" the traumatized fistulas that have survived their mind control tortures without selling out to becoming death zone gigolos and kapos, they will be eaten alive. It has so many similarities to North America's current distraction with astronomy miasma of murk -

There are agents of misinformation, who want to send death wishes with intent and focused negative prayer - China thinks that is what the falun gong are doing.

I just knew we could blame it on Monsanto. The fact that 90% of the antibiotics in North America are used on cattle.

Role of several Staphylococcus aureus virulence factors on the inflammatory response in bovine mammary gland
[link to www.sciencedirect.com]
Evil works under shadow and lies, in the dark - Monsanto.

"Monsanto continues its attempts to hide the basic facts of food production from consumers, this time in Kansas. The Kansas Dairy Association, along with a suspicious "grassroots" dairy group that has the same public relations firm as Monsanto, has helped introduce a bill to the state Senate that would ban "growth hormone-free" milk labels. The bill's supporters argue that growth hormone can't be found in lab tests, and if a lab can't verify it, consumers don't need to be told about it.
[link to consumerist.com]

Aminoglycosides - look promising. "Wong said the researchers worked with aminoglycosides because they function differently than other antibiotics, preventing the formation of proteins that allow bacteria to live, instead of attacking the proteins after they are formed. The same method might be used to develop anticancer and antiviral agents, he added."
[link to www.sciencedaily.com]

They've discovered staph doesn't grow around some microbes. They literally put earth in the petri dishes and in the spots staph can't grow - they investigate the microbe to see if they can determine the chemical.

Microbe investigations.

People once died from scratches all the time. One of the first people treated with staph was a cop, dying in the hospital from a scratch on his face. His face was twice it's normal size. Cops, firefighters, the homeless are still most vulnerable to this infection. The cop got better, but they ran out of antibiotic before they killed the entire thing. It was experimental and they didn't use the right dose. By the time they made more antibiotic - the staph had re-emerged and killed him.

Definite doom foreboding in that little happenstance.
