People who are planning a trip to Canada often don't realize, or forget, that Marijuana use is a FELONY in Canada and Canada does NOT allow Felons into the country without a waiver.

"Are you a user of or have you smoked Marijuana" is one of the stock questions Canadian Border people often ask when you enter the country ... and if you say "YES" well they have the ability to prevent you from entering Canada right then and IT then goes on your record and you can NOT enter again in the future without getting the waiver.

Enforcement has been inconsistent over the years ... BUT ... Canada DOES have the right to bar you from entering if you USED or are USING (in the general sense) Marijuana even if you have never smoked it in Canada.

Want to go to Canada? Better NOT have EVER have been issued Marijuana Card or you may not be allowed in (by law they should NOT allow you in in fact).

Unsure about what databases Canada can look at wrt medical issues but anything on any of the US Criminal databases they have access to. (any arrests for Marijuana Use, even Misdemeanors? .... you may be HOSED if the database accessible to the Canadians covers the year you were arrested)

(Don't forget ... a Drunk Driving Conviction ALSO prevents you from getting into Canada without a Waiver. Drunk Driving is another FELONY offense in Canada and ex-Felons are NOT allowed into Canada without that waiver - actually seen it happen to people at the border who had already prepaid for a vacation trip to Canada)

100 years ago, there wasnt gunlaws in most of Europe, there wasnt much of a difference. But Europe threw out God around that time onwards, i think compared to population, Europe (as a continent) now have the least amount of christians on earth.

Christians acknowledge man is fallen and evil and their power over other people must be restrained. Thats why you set up the US constitution with all these God given rights. That was the framework for the US constitution. Evil people seek power so they can "have their way" with other people, because if you dont acknowledge and fear God, your highest authority becomes fallen men and the government, or ultimately, yourself.

Self defence is a biblical right, loving your neigbour is the opposite on imposing your views and your will on another that doesnt want it, but letting people be free as long as it doesnt go on the expense of others. And this is the christian thinking that comes out of a biblical world view, we dont want to ban things we find offensive as christians, because you are held acountable for your own choices. You cant force anyone to be a christian either because you are only saved trough genuine faith. So in a way, its good people have free will to mess up and figure out the right way for themselves as explained in the bible, because sin have consequenses. God wants us to out of free will CHOOSE him!

That world view which was common across the entire western protestant world when the US constitution was written is GONE today.

Government took Gods role as the highest authority. And you see more of that in Europe than in the US, and thats why the US is more free than Europe, but since americans also forgets God and no longer hold to a biblical world view, half of america no longer want to be free aswell.

I have a better suggestion. Why don't we routinely check politicians and judges for drug usages. After all, their decisions impact millions of people.

And, cognitive tests for politicians, (especially for the POTUS) before they take office. Make those routine too.
