Canadian Civil Rights Giant, Clayton Ruby dies at 80 years of age while getting a massage but it looks like it was not a very happy ending.
There is however something extremely funny about his life. Despite his reputation as being an civil rights activist, he is responsible for the wrongful conviction of Guy Paul Morin.

Clayton was a badass when he worked with Paul Copeland. He was the real force behind the duo. Unlike Ruby, Paul Copeland was also strongly involved with the Association in Defence of the Wrongly Convicted.

Paul Copeland is the real saint and civil rights activist.

So thanks for the link, it's great and the current lapse is terrible.

oh wow, I was at Ruby's funeral yesterday afternoon and almost ran over Paul Copeland. The guy is 82 and he was using a walker but his spirit is stronger than ever. When I almost bumped in to him he sneered, "get out of the way or I'll kill you."

I love that guy. He is such a GREAT SOUL!!!!

😁

Paul Copeland is one of a kind.

In 2006, Copeland was awarded the Sidney B. Linden Award by Legal Aid Ontario, in recognition of his work.

In 2007 Copeland was awarded the G. Arthur Martin medal for outstanding contribution to criminal justice, 2007.

On December 30, 2010 Copeland was made a Member of the Order of Canada.

In April, 2013 Copeland was awarded the Law Society Medal by the Law Society of Upper Canada.
