BREAKING: AG Garland Making Statement on Trump Raid - Live Now! | |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 80382713 United States 08/11/2022 04:12 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Quoting: Anonymous Coward 72727002 This comparison is very relevant, since Garland mention justice equally. It hasn't been equal for a long time. No it's not. Not even in the same ballpark. See above. As was reported back in late 2016, the Obama team was transferring the records to Chicago through the National Archives, which legally owns the documents once a president leaves office. Once the documents ultimately reached a warehouse in Chicago, the Obama Foundation then paid the National Archives and Record Administration to digitize the documents. There isn’t the faintest hint of legal violations there. Also included in the handoff: the tens of thousands of gifts Obama received over his eight years in office, which, like the documents and records, officially remain in the “complete ownership, possession and control” of the government. There were also no national security level classified documents in that either. This was all done with full public knowledge and reporting. [link to www.wlsam.com (secure)] BTW, every president has done this when they leave office, legally, through the National Archives, for their post-office presidential library. |

His attorneys are surely filing paperwork as we speak. 1,000% chance all the assholes like Ted Cruz that have been demanding DOJ release it will back Trump on his decision to fight its release. Watch. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 82852459 United States 08/11/2022 04:13 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | 5 mins ago My attorneys and representatives were cooperating fully, and very good relationships had been established. The government could have had whatever they wanted, if we had it. They asked us to put an additional lock on a certain area - DONE! Everything was fine, better than that of most previous Presidents, and then, out of nowhere and with no warning, Mar-a-Lago was raided, at 6:30 in the morning, by VERY large numbers of agents, and even “safecrackers.” They got way ahead of themselves. Crazy! Thanks! This is all good and well, but I do want to know more about the warrant. Did his lawyers receive a copy? If so, why haven't they released it? If not, why does Garland seem to think it was given to the Trump team? You believe anything the FIBbers say? Why? Trump's lawyer that was on site was 1) kicked out into the Florida sun and 2) shown a warrant, from a distance, and part of it was sealed. Sounds like the FIB should have been treated as armed trespassers, tbh. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 83743472 Shorter Merrick Garland: if Trump doesn't want to release the search warrant and inventory, fine, we will, we just asked the courts to unseal it, everybody have run reading about what a criminal Trump is. Yea pretty sure that’s not what is happening here That's exactly what is happening and was the purpose of the press briefing just now. When this goes before the judge, Trump can object and try to block unsealing the warrant and inventory index and making it public, Will he try to block that and keep it secret? That will be telling if he does. Summing this up: GOP: Unseal the warrant!! DOJ: ok GOP: wait no Donald Trump has a copy of the search warrant. He’d show us the warrant if he were so wronged. Show it or shut it. |

Trump removed materials without authorization or going through the National Archives and stored them at his private residence. Some of that was highly classified national security level materials. National Archives had to go to Mar-a-Lago to retrieve documents, and they did but Trump didn't even give them everything. Trump's whataboutism here is a total fail. |

What a development if this is true Well, we all know how loyal and trustworthy SS are to the people they swore to protect.
