The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services reports a majority of the state's monkeypox cases are in Black men. NCDHHS released the state’s new data on the outbreak on Wednesday.

Monkeypox: Here's a breakdown of North Carolina cases

The department reported 122 monkeypox cases, all of which have been in men and nearly all in men who have sex with other men.

Per data pulled from Aug. 8, 2022, 70% of cases were in Black men, and 19% in white men.
