Not to be cruel, but when the hell did we all decide to drop 'away' from the phrase passed away??

It makes every current death report sound like we need to ask, "what did they pass?"

This makes one wonder, what other types of threads just get erased from existence???

Replacing it with passed??

Passed is usually associated with a good event.
