I've read flooding your mouth with extremely salty water could reboot your taste and smell.

The quality of food has gone to shit in the USA. All the good stuff is being exported to oil producing nations, just to keep the oil flowing.

Get some essential oils to retrain your brain. Get smells you are familiar with. Get several different groups from floral, citrus, spice, etc.

Orange
Rose
Lavender
Clove
Peppermint

Then retrain your nose until things start to smell like you remember. Search YouTube for videos on doing this. You probably had COVID but were asymptomatic. Your smell and therefore taste are all fucked up now.

I had a bad cold (maybe c-1984), 4 days felt really crap. Now getting over it, but it really sucks to not being able to smell/taste anything. Couldn't have even imagined how bad life would be without those senses.

I wouldnt worry about it. Soon, there will not be much food around so you will have an advantge over others who are craving it and cannot get it. Seriously, you will find yourself very fortunate.

Start taking zinc supplements. Avoid zinc gluconate if you have a sensitive stomach. It’ll make you throw up.
