I'm an FE, but this argument is largely a stalemate.

Indeed the sun and moon should not change size much (the sun less than the moon) if in fact we're as far away from them as is claimed. Moving a few thousand miles would only change their size (due to perspective) by some small percentage.

When the sun gets bigger as it sets, it's clearly due to moisture in the atmosphere.

When the sun gets smaller as it sets, it could theoretically be due to it passing from an area of greater moisture/humidity to one of lower moisture/humidity. Certainly the latter is less likely, especially in a desert. But the globers could claim that and it would be difficult to collect the data one way or another to either prove or disprove it.

It hold it to be incredibly unlikely that the shrinking of the sun as it sets (in an arid climate) is due to changing moisture ... but can't prove it, and the globers cling with white knuckles to any even extremely remote possibility ... due to their confirmation bias.

Both Newton and Einstein were frauds.
