The entire world's population could live, quite comfortably, in Texas.

We are nowhere near the world's "carrying capacity" when it comes to people.

There are people saying we are over "carying capacity" others saying that we are below "carying capacity", yet noone shows a way to come up with a reasonable number for said "carying capacity".

All the tyrants in ancient Greece where complaining that there are too many people. How do we distinguish between a legitimate overpopulation concern and just some despot's desire to cull the useless eaters so he can sleep better?

The entire world population of 7.8 billion could fit into the state of Texas, assuming the population density of New York City of 27,000 per square mile. If Texas were its own country, it would be the 40th largest out of 193 countries in the world, bigger than every country in Europe

Why space? wouldn't it be far easier to colonize the oceans, both on the surface and below as well as going underground on land. Far far easier than going to a whole different planet that doesn't have the resources to support life.

The massive explosion in third world population is due to trickle down from 1st world fiat money, industrial petroleum based carbohydrate farming and "foreign aid" activities. None of this is sustainable in terms of naturally replenishing resources NOR IS IT USEFUL in terms of talent applied to problem solving. 90% of the population really are just useless eaters and cattle and 90% of "laws" are a reaction to their general misbehavior.

What the Earth needs is a small population of thoughtful, constructive people who understand Permaculture and self control, but do not avoid technological advances.
