Re: One question on Mandela Effect that is now resolved! Is it REAL?! Take a look!! Screenshots, old news articles, some amateur videos prove it!
This literally proves nothing.

The true "Mandela effect" is not hard to understand. And the internet itself is the issue.

Let's take Luke, I am your father. It is a simple line. Vader says, No, I am your father. Always did. But people run around quoting it as "Luke, I am your father!". There was no internet. Many people quoted it incorrectly. The movie was insanely huge, cultural touchstone. As fans grow up, some say the wrong quote, some say the actual line. No big deal.

But then the internet comes along. Now there are people quoting the line wrong, and the movie is 20 years old at that point. Kids that grew up with their parents saying the line wrong see it as the misquote. To them it has always been Luke, I am your father. The misquote on that line was actually more popular than the real line. The internet is 7 billion people, many of them stupid. Thus, the line was changed via "Mandela Effect".

Berenstain Bears. A strange spelling. It was always that. But when people write it out from memory, Berenstein is a far more natural sounding and looks correct. Same type of thing. Over time, we all think the old books had to be Berenstein. People get on the internet and some people who no longer have the books and swear it was Berenstein cannot be convinced. So it must be that the "timeline shifted".

It is all misremembering, and groups of people remember some things because in that area where they grew up or lived, most people thought that. But now we have the internet, where billions of people remember things differently, misremember, and many are easily swayed by listening to others.

The entire idea came about because of misreporting on Mandela's death, it embedded in the collective memory of many, and though it was retracted and corrected....no, Mandela was DEAD, I swear. So, someone MUST be changing realities.

The old ads that may show mispelled names of restaurants, books, etc, are the perfect proof. Because people in that are that saw the misspelled names and such, many believe in that same falsehood.

It is so simple to see. But I think it is like aliens or bigfoot. People want so badly to believe, theyd rather it be changing timelines than the obvious.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 81024798

Why do you think it's called the MANDELA Effect?
I am 56 years old and recall CLEARLY the uproar when Mandela died in prison - I recall his memorial and the speech his wife; Winnie Mandela gave - she stated she would carry on his fight - and she became the president of South Africa

THAT is not "misremembering"
I have met and spoken with online, MANY people who recall his death - and an equal number who remember the timeline we live in now where Mandela did NOT die in prison -

Wait... WHAT?

It's always been Dilemna

Actually no - look up the many Dilemna threads on GLP

Find the oldest dictionary you can - it's always been DILEMMA
 Quoting: JADR+

I JUST looked in my husband's 1985 collegiate Websters dictionary - it is 100% spelled: dilemma

I took a photo, but I guess I cannot attach a photo on GLP (Probably I just don't know how)

I do not know why I suddenly cannot paste images (I can't vote on people's KARMA any loner - even when I am logged i - so maybe it's related to that -) but I 100% have an image I took of my husband's 1985 Webster's Dictionary, and it is spelled dilemma - even spellcheck isn't saying this spelling is incorrect -

Most journalists these days are younger than I am (56) and probably THAT explains why -

if someone can tell me how to attach the photo I took of hte dictionary, I will post it

Ok, the Mandela Effect has now been SOLVED. gather around. and please invite your friends to come here as well.

the Mandela Effect has now beem SOLVED. it is easy to find artifacts from the original objects on our timeline, i.e. in their state BEFORE they shifted.

the way to do so is simply to use existing online resources to search through old newspapers, via the WEB. and also, you can only find artifacts if they are the product of someone OTHER than the actual purveyor of the item or work in question.

So, for example, ALL occurences of the name "Looney Tunes" appear that way in the actual cartoons. However, if we do a search for the name "Looney Toons," in actual tv listings in various old newspapers.... guess what you find. take a look at the link below, and then click ANY newspaper shown there; then zoom in on the specific image... and voila.

"remember, all I'm offering is the truth."

LINK TO SEARCH RESULTS:

[link to chroniclingamerica.loc.gov (secure)]

LINK TO ACTUAL OCCURRENCE OF PHRASE "Looney TOONS"!!!! Every single search result shows the same result!!!!

[link to chroniclingamerica.loc.gov (secure)]
 Quoting: Digital mix guy

This is all evidence of what the Mandela effect actually is...

Human error becoming memes. Misquotes, that get repeated by people who think the misquote is the real quote, until the misquote dramatically outnumbers the real quote in pop culture.

Here is a very simple formula you can apply to anything you believe, to determine for yourself, if you are experiencing a failure in logic;

Properly functioning logic, will rule out all of the most commonplace, easiest answers to a problem, before embracing the most unlikely answer to the problem.

IE, I come home and find my window open, a broken flower pot on the floor, and tiny paw prints leading out the window, I have about a thousand run-of-the-mill possible answers to consider, before moving on to embracing the idea that aliens from the Arcturus constellation broke into my house to steal a hidden super weapon that will help end their Civil War, and made fake animal prints to cover their tracks.

However if I have embraced this fantastic scenario before ruling out the idea that I left the window open, and a neighborhood cat came in, knocked the pot off the sill, and then walked through the soil, I am experiencing a failure of logic.

Because I have embraced the least statistically probable solution to a problem, before ruling out the most statisticly probable solutions.

Sound familiar?

So the What? is answered, but not the bottom line money question, Why?
What would be the financial incentive to make trivial name changes?

Surely someone has already said this, but just in case they have not, the Why? is answered by the What.

What is being changed is 99% registered TRADEMARK® Word and possibly a bit of COPYRIGHT© Art aka Intellectual Properties.

There are numerous financial incentives for changing these spellings including:

1. Transfer/Sale of a licensed property brand where there was an issue where the original owner of the Trademark found issue with the sale and refused to transfer the Trademark to the new owner.

I won't waste anymore of my time listing all the other scenarios where the name edit had a money incentive, because there are dozens to hundreds of possibilities.

Go to the USPTO.gov and search Trademarks.
There you can SEARCH the changed names WORD and find the who owns the property, how long, who it is licensed to, whether it is a live or dead Trademark, etc.

If the Trademark fees are not kept up, after a period the Trademark becomes public domain again, and people are waiting to snag those and scalp them for money.

Any buyer/new owner of the brand -who doesn't want to pay the scalper- can simply file a new Trademark with an edited name, and now you have a Mandela Makeover where the Copyrighted art portion of the IP stays the same, yet the Trademark name is changed. Why? money.

Copyrights are far more valuable and have no upkeep fees.
So, what's in a name? Not near as much as is in the associated art.

And as proven by the phenomena of this Mandela Effect becoming an urban legend,
the true value of any Trademark word...is determined by the recognition in the eye and mind of the beholder...the buyer parting with their money.

Click url below, then Scroll to the text below, and click in the embedded link!!

What is available online?

Digitised newspapers can be viewed online via the British Newspaper Archive, a site developed in partnership with Findmypast, which has newspapers from across the UK, primarily for the 19th century but with a growing number of issues to the end of the 20th century. Searching is free, but to view the newspapers requires a personal subscription. The BNA can be viewed for free in our Reading RooM.

I don't think it's a psychological war. I think it's a side effect of something else. What is causing it is my question. Is it a necessary component of the simulation for it to function properly? Has it always been happening and now, with the internet, we have the means to verify it?

Is CERN speeding it up? Causing more changes?

I don't think it disproves simulation theory at all. I think it does more to prove it.

The psychological war is a trip huh?

Even more so, those refusing to even try to understand.

Deep deep programming.

Kinda disproves simulation, else all references would change concurrently.

I don't think it's a psychological war. I think it's a side effect of something else. What is causing it is my question. Is it a necessary component of the simulation for it to function properly? Has it always been happening and now, with the internet, we have the means to verify it?

Is CERN speeding it up? Causing more changes?

Perhaps CERN is involved.

Regardless, it is clearly a psychological war intended to
destabilize peoples' sense of reality.

It's mildly clever even.

Simply change spellings, logos, movie scenes.
Pretend they were always the new way.
Pit the young against the old.
Pit the memoryful against the dolts.
Pit people against people.
Propagate disgust, mistrust and paranoia.

Well, the jig is up.

Lion and the lamb

I think this video was actually identified as being dubious, in another video a while back.

Yeah, these two were the first two I watched. Then he kept pushing it in to BS land. He disappeared though, they say. If he just did these two and then went missing, I'd be sold.
