I read someone did this in my home state because it was required by law to sign the ticket. prettystupid |

Then disappears for at least 6 months while matters get settled and the wannabe parasites get distracted by something else. Tie that stuff up in trusts that provide income. That way when the "long lost relatives" appear, they can say, "sorry, locked down in trusts for the next 20 years, I cannot access it. This is to protect my assets. I only have income from the trust". They will throw a tantrum; thus, confirming they were only there to soak and sponge. Then have your lawyer claim the winnings in the name of such entity. This protects the winner, and immediate family, from crazies and threats. Giving some random person 1.28 billion is a threat to national security. it doesn't happen. The money is probably pocketed by a bunch of wealthy people and some person who doesnt exist is named as the winner. keep buying lottery tickets..... |

I visit this speedway every morning before I get on 90 and head downtown. Sadly, I didn't buy a ticket at this station. I told family its probably a worker from O'hare. That place is crawling with airport workers. [link to abc7chicago.com (secure)] |

Maryland is a state that does not require this... I don't know if it's the only one... It might be. I only know cause my father won. He died... Still thinking I don't know he won... and the golden child still thinks the scapegoat doesn't know it was left to her... what was left of it anyways... ...but yeah for the most part winners are public knowledge... you right about that! |

Correct, varies by state. Sorry, about your Dad's passing. You are also correct, most big time winners end up with little left in a few years. bad money management, parasites, con artists, etc; hence, my advice on trusts and such. Have to protect yourself, and immediate family, first. Fate whispers to the warrior "You cannot withstand the storm" the warrior whispers back "I am the storm" INTJ-A |

Otherwise they could just have a company man choose the winning numbers at a location of their choice and pay said location their 1% fee but never actually pay a "winner".... ever. |

It's uncommon for their politicians NOT to go to jail. The mafia is still heavy there, but they got smart and became large chunks of the true cartel...the US government. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 32577701 United States 07/30/2022 10:49 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I can't see how this is legitimate. ONE person winning $1.2 billion... while the other 329 million of us are getting fucked more and more each day? The lottery is probably a scam to launder huge amounts of money, and the winner is just the patsy. Probably winds up with a few million to play along. |
