A history lesson
Clement of Alexandria was head of the Catechetical School of Alexandria circa 180 AD. With access to the Library of Alexandria he had the most accurate and awesome source of ancient history and knowledge ever compiled. In 198 AD he wrote his "Stromata".

In Book 1 Chapter XXI He writes that all of the important figures of the ancient Greek's including Plato, Pythagaras, and Socrates were "foreigners" of a far more ancient people. These people he asserts were the "wisest" ones.

Here is a link to his Stromata book 1:

Anyone who might be interested could scroll down to Chapter XXI and get a brief history lesson.

Just thought I would share as I found it very intriguing.
