Extreme Heat Causes Bridge to Snap in China - Video

The Weather Network pushes the Agenda BS of 'Global Warming' so immediately I think whatever they are pushing is BS.
However - being a structural engineer - yes, increase in temperature makes things expand and when you have a very long continuous run of any material, you need to allow for expansion and contraction.
That said -there isn't enough information given to know exactly why it failed the way it did.
In short - don't buy Chinese bridges.

Properly designed bridges have expansion joints to prevent that sort of thing from happening. The failure had nothing to do with extreme heat, climate change, etc. It was entirely the result of poor original design and engineering practices.

I live in GA. We see temps of 100 all the time and our bridges don't fall apart like that.


I don't have cable anymore, but I remember they global warming bullshit. I just keep the app on my phone because it's more accurate than AccuWeather.

It was built from Chinesium so of course it will fail.
