Worth is a very western culture; Houston is a deep southern culture; San Antonio is a very Mexican flavored culture; Austin? We are not even sure why Austin is even in Texas. The accents also vary greatly between regions. Within regions, take the south, for instance, the accents can vary greatly depending on state, educational level and social class. Yes, in the south we do have accents that can be considered "posh", and others that are downright redneck twang. To say a New Englander is the same as a Southerner, is just like claiming a German and a Spaniard are exactly alike culturally. Why did I realize that I could not do it myself? Because each of the cultures had more or less of an impact on the culture of the states. PurpCaddy |

OP mentions Madonna. The last time she had a hit in the US was 22 years ago ('Music', 2000). OP, if you're interested in popular music in American history, here's a short video: |

Yes, in the south we do have accents that can be considered "posh", and others that are downright redneck twang. Yes, very diverse; however, until recently (in a relative sense) most of us maintained a common underlying culture of freedom through personal responsibility, and a common thought that one could achieve their dreams and build wealth for their families if one pursued same with integrity, focus and perseverance. That was before Oblahblah and the intentional (much more aggressive) subversion of what made this country great (we were getting too close to showing that this rather short experiment actually works). The subversion (and now outright destruction) continues to this day at an exponential pace. I realize that many of our politicians and “media figures” sold their souls long before this, and we all just turned a generational blind eye - one after the next - while we pursued our dreams. Now the “buyers of souls” are calling in their chips though, and we have decisions to make if we hope to avoid the nightmare these fuckers envision. In short, wake up, see through the bullshit for what it is (and who they are), and tell them to fuck off NOW - or don’t and wish you had, but it’ll be too late by then. Anonymous Coward User ID: 72662529 United States 07/26/2022 09:39 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I would say every country has a history and a culture hero. The US is unique as not only does it have its own history (good and bad) but because of our liberal immigration policies (especially nowadays) we share a culture made up from a variety of people from all over the world. That culture is unique to the US as it brings traditions and blends it into the locals in a new place often creating a whole new culture with the more bland American culture. Many countries are much older than the US so yes they have thousands of years of rich history and unique people to be able to draw culture from. America is only 246 years into our history, and yes Cowboys are a proud part of our culture and history, not only the Cowboys of the past Wild West but the modern Cowboys that make amazing contributions to our society. Our sports teams are celebrated around the world and has a very rich history, our industry like the automotive industry reaches around the globe as well with muscle cars and Fords assembly lines. Yes our music also influences the world, so much history there and not hard to find a stadium never filled to the brim with one of many American influential acts, our Gold Rush days contributed history and world wide culture contributions from the rich stories to Blue Jeans which are coveted around the globe. I would say our politics have also contributed to a history famous in many countries from not only meddling but for actually responding to many disasters when people are in need. Our politics have also influenced many many countries to emulate our Constitution. For a country competing with other nations with remarkable 3 thousand year histories and cultures that have disappeared and changed many times, I would say that America does rather well. So much we need to change, do better and outright throw away but looking into those long histories of other countries, they are lessons that they had to learn, and still today are learning so don’t get too high on whoever’s horse you are riding, as it is still in second or worse to many American horses |

They carved out a successful farming culture from the howling wilderness. Is that enough history for you? “A grower of turnips or shaper of clay, a commot Farmer or a king--every man is a hero if he strives more for others than for himself alone.” Lloyd Alexander, The Castle of Llyr |
