Need help finding a passage in scripture or non-Biblical text
I recall there being a prophetic passage in either the Bible or some other old Bible-ish book (Catholic cannon or something like Enoch?) about a time where people will not be able to stay home because their neighbors or outsiders will raid their homes and plunder them. Something like that.

It struck me as similar to what seems to be coming up, what with the homelessness that will go sharply up, global depression and food shortages. The people will likely become like locusts in search for food and medicines.

Does anyone know where that passage is from? I've searched for a while with keywords I thought I remembered, but I'm not finding the specific reference. BTW, it's not strictly about Israel or Jerusalem.

Re: Need help finding a passage in scripture or non-Biblical text
There is a few prophetics passage as you describes.

The burden of Babylon which Isaiah, the son of Amoz, saw.

Over the foggy mountain lift up a sign! Raise the voice, lift up the hand, and let the rulers enter through the gates!

In my wrath, I commanded my sanctified ones, and I called my strong ones, those who exult in my glory.

On the mountains, there is the voice of a multitude, as if of a numerous people, a voice with the sound of kings, of nations gathered together. For [Elijah] the Lord of hosts has given orders to soldiers of war,

to those who are arriving from a far off land, from the heights of the heavens. It is [Enoch] the Lord and the instruments of his fury, so that he may bring ruin to all the earth.

Wail aloud! For the day of the Lord draws near! It will arrive like a devastation from [Jesus] the Lord.

Because of it, every hand will fail, and every heart of man will waste away and be crushed.

Writhing and pain will seize them. They will be in pain, like a woman in labor. Each one will appear stupefied to his neighbor. Their countenances will be like faces which have been burned up.

Behold, the day of the Lord approaches: a cruel day, full of indignation and wrath and fury, which will place the earth in solitude and crush the sinners from it.

For the stars of the heavens, in their splendor, will not display their light. The sun will be obscured at its rising, and the moon will not shine in her brightness.

And I will act against the evils of the world, and against the impious for their iniquity. And I will cause the pride of the unfaithful to cease, and I will bring down the arrogance of the strong.

A [son of] man will be more precious than gold, and mankind will become like pure refined gold.

For this purpose, I will stir up heaven, and the earth will be moved from its place, because of the indignation of [Sabaoth] the Lord of hosts, because of the day of his furious wrath.

And they will be like a doe fleeing away, or like sheep; and there will be no one who may gather them together. Each one will turn to his own people, and every one will flee to his own land.

All who are found will be killed, and all who are caught unaware will fall by the sword.

Their infants will be thrown down violently before their eyes. Their houses will be plundered, and their wives will be violated.

Behold, I will stir up the Medes against them. They will not seek silver, nor desire gold.

Instead, with their arrows, they will put the little children to death, and they will take no pity on breastfeeding women, and their eye will not spare their children.

And then Babylon [British/German Anglo-Saxons], the glorious one among kingdoms, that famous pride of the Chaldeans [Canadians/French], will be destroyed, even as the Lord destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah.

It will not be inhabited, even unto the end, and it will not be reestablished, even from generation to generation. The Arab will not pitch his tents there, nor will the shepherds take rest there.

Instead, the wild beasts will rest there, and their houses will be filled with serpents, and ostriches will live there, and the hairy ones [Bigfoots] will leap about there.

And the tawny owls will answer one another there, in its buildings, and the Sirens in its shrines of pleasure. - Isaiah 13:1-22

Thread: So You Wanted To Know Who The Son Of Perdition Is? (Page 7)

Listen to this word, which I lift over you in lamentation. The house of Israel has fallen, and it will no longer rise again.

The virgin of Israel has been thrown onto her land, there is no one who can raise her up.

For thus says [Jesus] the Lord God: In the city from which a thousand departed, a hundred will remain, and in that from which a hundred departed, ten will remain, in the house of Israel.

For thus says [Enoch] the Lord to the house of Israel: Seek me and you will live.

But do not be willing to seek Bethel, and do not be willing to enter Gilgal, and you will not cross into Beer-sheba. For Gilgal will be led into captivity, and Bethel will be useless.

Seek the Lord and live. Otherwise, the house of Joseph may be destroyed with fire, and it will devour, and there will be no one who can extinguish Bethel.

You turn judgment into wormwood, and you abandon justice on earth.

The Maker of Arcturus and Orion, who turns darkness into daybreak and who changes day into night; who calls forth the waters of the sea and who pours them out over the face of the earth: The Lord [Jesus] is his name.

It is he who smiles destruction on the healthy, and who brings pillaging upon the powerful.

They held hatred for the one who corrects at the gate, and they have abhorred the one who speaks perfectly.

Therefore, on his behalf, because you have torn apart the poor and stolen choice prey from him: you will build houses with square stones and you will not dwell in them; you will plant the most delightful vineyards, and you will not drink wine from them.

For I know your manifold transgressions and your mighty sins: they afflict the just, they take a bribe, and they turn aside the poor in the gate from their right.

Therefore, the prudent will be silent at that time, for it is an evil time.

Seek good and not evil, so that you may live. And [Enoch] the Lord God of hosts will be with you, just as you have asked.

Hate evil and love good, and establish judgment at the gate. Perhaps then the Lord God of hosts may have mercy on the remnant of Joseph.

Therefore, thus says [Enoch] the Lord God of hosts, the Sovereign: In all the streets, there will be wailing. And in every place where they are outdoors, they will say, “Woe, woe!” And they will call the farmer to mourn, and those who know mourning to lamentation.

And in all the vineyards there will be wailing. For I will cross through your midst, says [Jesus] the Lord.

Woe to those who desire the day of the Lord. What is it to you? The day of the Lord is this: darkness and not light.

It is as if a man flees from the face of a lion [of Judah], only to have a [Russian] bear meet him; or, he enters a house and leans with his hand against the wall, only to have a [old] serpent bitten him.

Will not the day of the Lord be darkness and not light, and gloom with no brightness in it?.

I hate and have rejected your feasts; and I will not accept the odor from your gatherings.

For if you offer me holocausts [halal and k0sh3r] and your gifts, I will not receive them; and I will not look upon the vows of your fatness.

Take away from me the tumult of your songs, and I will not listen to the canticles of your lyre.

And judgment will be revealed like water, and justice like a mighty torrent.

Was it you who offered victims and sacrifices to me in the desert for forty years, house of Israel?.

And you carried a tabernacle for your Moloch and the image of your idols: the star of [David] your god, which you made for yourselves.

And I will cause you to go into captivity across Damascus, says [Enoch] the Lord. The God of hosts is his name. - Amos 5:1-27

19 “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, 20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

This part is similar to what I recall, though I recall this section being longer, with more detail. It might have just been this though and my mental image of it is where I'm getting the extra detail from.

"It is he who smiles destruction on the healthy, and who brings pillaging upon the powerful.

They held hatred for the one who corrects at the gate, and they have abhorred the one who speaks perfectly.

Therefore, on his behalf, because you have torn apart the poor and stolen choice prey from him: you will build houses with square stones and you will not dwell in them; you will plant the most delightful vineyards, and you will not drink wine from them."

For behold, I am beginning to afflict the city in which my name has been invoked, and will you be innocent and immune? You will not be immune! For I will call the sword over all the inhabitants of the earth, says [Elijah] the Lord of hosts.

And you shall prophesy to them all these words, and you shall say to them: The Lord will roar from on high, and he will utter his voice from his holy habitation. When roaring, he will roar over the place of his beauty. He will call out, like those who chant in rhythm as they trample the grapes, against all the inhabitants of the earth.

The sound of it will penetrate even to the ends of the earth. For the Lord is entering into judgment with the nations. He himself is entering into judgment with all flesh. I have delivered the impious to the sword, says [Jesus] the Lord.”

Thus says [Sabaoth] the Lord of hosts: “Behold, an affliction will go forth from nation to nation, and a great whirlwind will go forth from the ends of the earth.

And the slain of the Lord will be, on that day, from one end of the earth, even to the other end. They will not be mourned, and they will not be gathered, and they will not be buried. They will lie upon the face of the earth like dung.

Wail, O shepherds, and cry out! And sprinkle yourselves with ashes, O nobles of the flock! For the days have been completed that lead to your slaughter and your destruction. And you will fall like precious vessels.

And escape will flee from the shepherds, and safety will flee from the nobility of the flock.”

There is a voice of outcry from the shepherds, and a wailing among the nobles among the flock! For [Jesus] the Lord has laid waste to their pastures.

And the fields of peace have been silenced before the face of the fury of [Enoch] the Lord.

He has abandoned those he sheltered like a lion. For the earth has become a desolation before the face of the anger of the dove [Elijah the prophet], and before the face of the fury of [Jesus] the Lord. - Jeremiah 25:29-38 Vulgate Bible

I don't know though. The verse(s) I thought I recalled seemed to be less about invading armies and more about people in communities/areas sweeping through their neighbors homes. I may be misremembering though.

C2 Q4
From Monaco as far as Sicily all the
coast will remain deserted. There
will be no suburbs, cities nor towns
which have not been pillaged and
robbed by barbarians.

B: He says that the first event, the atomic weapon being dropped by one of the Middle Eastern countries, will spark off yet another war on top of that war and they will be fighting back and forth. Other countries, particularly European and Western nations, will feel they need to interfere to try to stop the war because of the supplies of fuel. So when the European countries try to interfere, the same crazed leader that dropped an atomic weapon before, will use up the rest of his arsenal on Europe. Most of it will be striking southern Europe since that is the closest part of Europe. As a result, the European Mediterranean coast, particularly that of France and Italy, will be almost uninhabitable, and Italy will get the brunt of it. He says the barbarians are the people under this crazed leader. This leader is not the Anti-Christ. What purpose this leader serves, since this leader is crazed and he uses his weapons injudiciously and gets the world involved with the war, is that he weakens the major nations to where the third Anti-Christ will be able to rise to power with little or no opposition. He sets the stage for the third Anti-Christ. He will rise to power in that part of the world, but no one will really know where he is from. He will be a mysterious figure and no one will know much about him. All they will know is that he wields great power and that no one can argue against him.

The Lord [Jesus] spoke to me again:

For as much as this people have refused the waters of Siloe, that go with silence, and hath rather taken Basin [Occupation of Gaza and West Bank and denied Palestine water and electricity], and the son of Remaliah began to reign [Benjamin 'King Pekah' Natanyahu]:

Because of this, behold, the Lord bringeth up upon them the waters of the river, strong and many, even the king of Assyria and all his glory: he shall come up over all his channels, and go over all his banks,

Perhaps what you are seeking is in 2 Esdras…

2 Esdras 15:17-27

17 A man shall desire to go into a city, and shall not be able.
18 For because of their pride the cities shall be troubled, the houses shall be destroyed, and men shall be afraid.
19 A man shall have no pity upon his neighbour, but shall destroy their houses with the sword, and spoil their goods, because of the lack of bread, and for great tribulation.
20 Behold, saith God, I will call together all the kings of the earth to reverence me, which are from the rising of the sun, from the south, from the east, and Libanus; to turn themselves one against another, and repay the things that they have done to them.
21 Like as they do yet this day unto my chosen, so will I do also, and recompense in their bosom. Thus saith the Lord God;
22 My right hand shall not spare the sinners, and my sword shall not cease over them that shed innocent blood upon the earth.
23 The fire is gone forth from his wrath, and hath consumed the foundations of the earth, and the sinners, like the straw that is kindled.
24 Woe to them that sin, and keep not my commandments! saith the Lord.
25 I will not spare them: go your way, ye children, from the power, defile not my sanctuary.
26 For the Lord knoweth all them that sin against him, and therefore delivereth he them unto death and destruction.
27 For now are the plagues come upon the whole earth and ye shall remain in them: for God shall not deliver you, because ye have sinned against him.

Good enough to be a prophet and with the Christ.

It is reckoned among the apocrypha by Roman Catholics, Protestants, and most Eastern Orthodox Christians. 2 Esdras was excluded by Jerome from his Vulgate version of the Old Testament, but from the 9th century onwards the Latin text is sporadically found as an appendix to the Vulgate, inclusion becoming more general after the 13th century.

Why does it matter about something written thousands of years ago?

It was about then, not now.
I believe in science NOT religion. Giving me bad karma for that, is anti-religious (you're passing judgement) I am just a man. Of no significance. Who found religion to be full of lies, and wrong doing, conflicted teachings
