That's pretty amazing for a scientist/astronomer, but to the average person that photo is underwhelming to say the least and makes me wonder if the tax dollars that go to NASA to fund these missions actually benefit us is any way.

Yeah, it's cool that we can see galaxies that are billions of years old, but what does it even accomplish?
