Anonymous Coward User ID: 76317574 United States 07/14/2022 10:26 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I am in South Mississippi. Quoting: tekman The problem I have is that the temperature here gets too hot, too quick. This has been happening for the past 10 years. My butterbeans and bush beans don't yield very well, because night time temperatures remain above 70 degrees, so early in the season. When night time temps remain above 70 degrees, and daytime temps rise above 90 degrees, the plants won't set pods, and the pods already on the plants are likely to fall off. I planted 3 200ft rows of speckled butterbeans this year, and I harvested about 30 pounds of shelled beans. Yield should have been 150 pounds. I planted 2 50 ft rows of Roma bush beans, and I harvested about 20 poounds of snap beans. Yield should have been over 200 pounds. I planted 2 50 ft rows of Fordhook Limas, and I harvested about 5 pounds of beans. Yield should have been 25 pounds. The only thing that did halfway good in my garden was the Mississippi Purple Hull Peas. I planted 5 200 ft rows. I pressure canned 127 quarts. That is about what I should have gotten. I did everything right. I cultivated with my 140 Farmall tractor, until the plants got too high, and then I scuffle-hoed every other day. I have a well, and irrigated. I killed aphids with soapy water, EVERY DAY. When the peas started making pods, I handpicked stinkbugs, every night, for 2 weeks. Yields now are nowhere near as good as gardens I had, back in the early 80's that took MUCH LESS WORK!! I only plant a garden because I like fresh peas and butterbeans, and you can't buy them at the market. I worked hard, in the VERY HOT SUN, for 2 1/2 months, for VERY LITTLE. I can assure you that the sun is not the same as it was in the 70's and 80's. ok bewmur |

Sure, sometimes it's wind and weather, but with no weather for more than a week the trees continue to fall. I discovered a major crack high up in a huge poplar beside my house. Can't find a tree company that even has time to call me back. Drove 40 miles to my farm yesterday, all along the roads there are trees that have fallen. I've been hearing the fire departments going out for downed trees all summer, again with no weather involved. |

If this destruction is allowed to continue unabated, the total collapse of the ozone layer will soon determine our collective fate. UVC radiation is now reaching the surface of the planet, this DNA damaging spectrum of solar radiation is the last spectrum of UV before x-rays. Geoengineering Watch has monitored the ever increasing UVC radiation for many years while trying simultaneously to sound the alarm. In this video report a former NASA contract engineer sends a dire warning. Quoting: Storm2come -Dane Wigington GeoengineeringWatch.org well shit, then they better stop sending up rockets because that tears holes in the ozone layer just from that. something is happening differently because im getting FASCIATION in many of my plants. im seeing more posts of them happening in others yards and its hard to tell if its a normal amount or not. seems higher to me a gut feeling but idk for sure if its on the rise. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 81075047 My garden is doing as well as it has ever done. The late cold snap has me behind by a week or two, but everything is doing just fine. Mine as well. Also if this were true it would affect all plants not just gardens. This is the fastest I've seen weeds and vines grown in SWFL in a while. Read "Teaming with Microbes" by Jeff Lowenfels & understand the importance in creating an environment that feeds the microbes to feed plants. If your are not doing this your are depleting your soil, which is the biggest issue in our factory food production. The chemicals applied kill the microbiome in the soil which reduce the ability for plants to take in nutrients. |
