I would think that given the figurative and literal fallout over such a move would deter him but there are other weapons that are not out of the realm of possibility that would leave infrastructures, etc in tact.

Except that's not what the video states. They mention a SINGLE launch of an older TOPOLOV missile with multiple dummy warheads... and that's not a very realistic narrative in a game as big as this one will be since once the first nuclear missile is launched it immediately becomes all-or-nothing and Putin understands this very well.
