Without power, healthy water could be an issue. My solution was to purchase a wood burning stove, firewood is coming soon and the chimney installation. The house could be heated with the wood stove and water boiled on top of that stove. In the event of an extended power grid failure, the heat and water issue are solved. I spend time thinking about what should be done, to protect my household during this crazy insane times. On a day to day basis, I do what is expected of me; go to work, clean the house, do laundry, mow the lawn, shop for food, etc. I am functioning, but, I don't feel much emotion. Having actually gone through a major winter storm without power but being able to heat the house with firewood gave me a big boost on my confidence that we can survive a complete loss of technology for an extended period of time. One suggestion: When it gets cold enough to have a fire, do a practice run and heat the house for 24 hours with it. Thus far, nasty cold symptoms, but they are all young and healthy. ![]() It's been increasing among our circle of family and friends as well, same as you describe it. Mostly nasty cold symptoms. There's a part of me that wants to believe this virus is going to mutate itself down to where it's manageable like the Spanish Flu did, but I just can't forget that this thing escaped from a level 4 biolab and showed indications of genetic manipulation. That's why I'm not letting my guard down just yet. We'll see what happens over the next 18 months or so and then I might start to relax. If we're still here, that is. I remember back in the day, when 'nasty cold symptoms' were simply just a 'cold'. The only thing that escaped from the lab in China was media driven fear.
