The farmer was installing a drainage pipe without calling 811 for utility locates first. This means he was digging much deeper than just plowing a field for planting. This is a legitimate scenario. I've been on scene for three gas line ruptures. They're not buried nearly as deep as you think they would be.

digging that deep would do it. different than the articles i saw. they did make repairs quick.

When we took our Narcan training for heroin ODs, they drilled into us over and over to never touch a heroin OD patient without gloves because if we got so much as a salt grain-sized particle of fentanyl on our skin we would go into instant OD.

Now, this was several years ago when fentanyl was still relatively new to the streets, so maybe they were overreacting, but that's what they said in our training.

As far as I know, that's still true. Every so often I hear a local story about someone dying, just being close to it.
