Ercot sent out an advisory yesterday to conserve electricity to avoid brownouts, or rolling blackouts. We have a generator, but are conserving to do our part for people who do not have generators.

Also, have been placed on water restrictions. Can only water on Wednesdays and Saturdays. They only thing happy in my garden right now is the okra, but that is a plant that thrives in the heat and requires little water.

Surprised to hear about the gabapentin too...my vet prescribed Dasquin for her joints when her front legs started looking a bit bow-legged (there is a weaker version available otc from chewy or amazon...Mine has to take subcutaneous (just under the skin) iv fluids for kidneys--she had an adrenal tumor they were able to remove but for some reason her kidneys were affected...so she gets 150mL of Lactated Ringer's Solution every night...I get the bags, needles and hookup for the bag from Allivet.com after the vet sent the RX for it... cheapest site I know for vet supplies..

also wanted to mention there are a ton of vitamin supplements out there on Amazon for cats--I asked the vet and he said okay to use one made by VetriScience --it's a specialized vitamin Renal Essentials...

Idk if that link will work but you can google the brand name--they have a ton of products. Vet said to be careful because there are so many products out there and some can do more harm than good, so I always clear anything with him first...

I grind it up along with the Dasquin Advantage and mix it with about 20mL of water and give it to her before the fluids--then the baby gets a treat and cuddles.

I was still a bit rattled last evening when I made the post.

I give her.33ml of the gabpentin in her soft food. It is to help with her nerves and calm her from the joint pain.

I give an injection twice per week of Adequan for the actual pain, 7 units.

The vet has also green lighted my use of tumeric, and fish oil to help with her inflammation. These I have in the medicine cabinet, and i grow fresh tumeric in the flower bed.

I noticed right away a difference with the gabpentin. She was far less grumpy with the kittens. Instead of hissing, she just gave them stank eye. Can't blame her for being grumpy with 2 high energy kittens, as she is 16 years old.

Dog-Dog did go up and sniff her face; whereupon, she gave him a good jaw boxing. but he usually get smacked at least once per day by one kitty or another. Sometimes the kittens catch him sleeping, sneak up, slap him and run off. Poor Dog-Dog wakes up with a shocked expression.

Hey guys. Just checking in. The heat we had over the weekend took me down and out. I tried to stay hydrated, but it seems my kidneys had other ideas. Not too sure what I could've done differently, though. Just starting to feel almost normal, but we've got round 2 tomorrow.

I did everything right. I don't know why it kicked my butt so hard. I was pretty sick from the heat Sunday and yesterday. Better today. I could actually eat a sandwich for supper. Couldn't/didn't want to eat for 2 days.

LJS, do you think the rapid increase in the prevalence of all these pathogens might be somewhat related to the changing climate? I'm thinking a combination of thawing permafrost releasing ancient viruses and bacteria into the wild plus a more favorable environment for these things to spread?

Just a wild theory that came into my head out of nowhere.

Roe v Wade sent back to states. Meaning abortions will be more restricted in many areas, or made fully illegal. However, areas very liberal may make abortion legal up to time of birth.

Clot shot making many infertile, or causing miscarriage. Crazed libbies, and those with health issues most likely to be vaccinated.

Add in the greatly lowered birth rates.

Maybe something is working to lower birth rates among those who are genetically weak, and up rates among the strong and more life viable?

If any of those dots connect, it is a divine hand, not an elite hand, as such goes against the elite agenda.
