How To Live On $30 A Week (for food) | |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 78957513 United States 07/10/2022 01:25 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Haven't watched the vid, no offense OP, but I prolly won't, lost me at Prepper Princess, lol...saw the headline though and chiming in. Quoting: Contrived Reality I don't worry about money much, but I've been fiscally conservative with food as a habit for years. I eat to fuel my body, not for the enjoyment, but I still love what I cook as well, and I do sometimes indulge myself with my favorites. Even now with prices high and going higher I'm eating good, and good means I'm not annoyed and I'm content, on $50 a week. Great soups, hearty casseroles, easy lunches, some pizza and drinking food mixed in, and all of it decently healthy. Granted I'm not buying organic and obviously not eating steak, but I'm happy and not feeling the pinch at all. Her video doesn't even really start until 4 min in so you didn't miss much. |

Bwahahahaha I burn that amount of calories before breakfast. On my 10 mile runs I burn about 1200 calories in the hour and a half it takes me to run it. Factor in some mornings where I follow my runs with jump burpees and pushup/pullups and I need that just for breakfast. Then I go work climbing trees all day.... I consume about 4-4500 calories a day and still sometimes go to bed a little hungry. If there's a famine, I'm in deep doo-doo. Maybe I'll be like AJ a d go eat my neighbors.... You are. I eat 1 meal a day and have for 2.5yrs, as part of my prepping for the obvious nightmare I saw coming a mile off. You'll have so much of a drop off it'll be a shock to your system. I'm like a VC soldier, bowl of rice and walk all day. Oh, it's a LARP thread. Ok... Well, Jack Lalane and Sum Yung Guy, I do the Hannibal Bruce Lee workout twice after breakfast. That's kill 2 ninjas, scramble their eyes with jalepenos, and chase with a nice Chiante. :hannibal: |

A good tried and true recipe, shredded cabbage, peel, and cube potatoes, slice up an onion, cook up some bacon. Boil cubed potatoes, cook up bacon, saving some of the grease. Using some of the bacon grease, sautée onions and cabbage until soft. chop up bacon and toss back into the cooked cabbage and onions, drain and put the cubed potatoes in the same pan, Cook until potatoes are browned, add some salt, pepper, oregan and some smoked paprika. |

When I was in college I got food stamps for working on campus (work study). I never really used them, so at the end of the month I would take my housemates to the grocery store (a girl from Micronesia and a Japanese girl), and tell them to buy whatever they liked for a feast. That was a blast. No prank. I shoplift hundreds of dollars of premium food every month. The way I see it society owes me for all the corruption I had to put up with in my custody case. These f****** slob humans need to f****** work and pay for my food. I hate humanity just as much as Soros. |

I was starting a new assignment and had limited funds as we hadn’t gotten paid yet. My evening meal back at the hotel for 5 evenings consisted of tuna tacos with black beans and hot sauce. From the Dollar Store I bought: Pack of soft flour tortillas 2 cans of tuna Can of black beans Bottle of hot sauce It was all brand name items. $5 bucks for 5 meals. |

CAD We are not struggling for groceries, but winter time does suck here if you are wanting fresh produce, the prices are insane. During the spring/summer/fall I grow as many veggies that we can get. I freeze those and berries that we get from the berry farms. Having a child that has many food allergies, this would not be realistic either. What about those weeks that she needs to buy toilet paper or laundry soap? |

Jun 30, 2022 Did you know that 50% of the food in the United States goes to waste? Not in this house! Nothing is wasted. Because of this, I am able to spend 50% less on food because it goes further. She’s fully maximizing and thats great however for me, i would go buy a bag of potatoes rather than packaged. Also, i would be storing those chicken dinners in the fridge for 3-4 days. In the freezer with everything. Also that vacuum sealer deal is great. Got to get one Storing food in freezer and fridge should be factored into the cost. Electricity isnt free. Refrigerators/Freezers dont really consume a lot of power. Average fridge is less than 1kwh per day. |
