The FBI called me following police report. They just sounded annoyed that I couldn't prove I had wired money to the freaking Pentagon. Which I hadn't! Just fill out an ACAT form to your Schwab account. Maybe Schwab can help with that. User ID: 83107346 United States 07/09/2022 03:12 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Gotta watch those banks. I have a somewhat similar story. But a different regional bank that had recently been bought by a larger regional. After my mom died, we went to the branches where she banked to obtain my dad’s safe deposit boxes. One box was at each location. The first branch found our box, no issue, and allowed us access after we provided all the necessary paperwork. I then asked them if they could confirm that the other box was still at the other branch, but after looking in the system, they said they couldn’t. Interestingly, even the box at this branch had all sign-out cards removed. Literally no signatures available, and I know for a fact that my mother and I signed the box out immediately after my father’s death a few years before to chk contents. By law, those cards are supposed to remain available forever, so if contents don’t match records you at least have a trail to figure out why. But no card. Anyway, we go to the other branch where we met a nice lady willing to “help,” gave her the paperwork we had, and even provided the original contract I found in my dad’s files. She said that the box number per the contract was owned by someone else, and that they had no record of anyone with our last name ever owning a box beyond the one at the other branch. I told her that was a problem, because my mom and I had checked that box as well shortly after my fathers death, and I knew that it had been paid for regularly until her death. I knew the contents as well, which were very valuable, so asked her to check some more. She agreed and even went back to the vault in an attempt to research the cards, but to no avail. I finally told her that we would pursue through her superiors, and thanked her for her time. When we got back to moms house, I decided to further research and FINALLY found a hand written list of the “estate” which also included two safe deposit box numbers and the contents of each. It appeared that at some point my dad changed boxes at the location in question. Anyway, I called this lady again and gave her the other box number and low/behold, she said that it was there - under my dads name (which was one of the names we gave her on our visit). In other words, they were likely hoping that we would never locate the box number and Then be able to (illegally) confiscate the contents. But we did and the contents were untouched. Nonetheless, I truly believe if we had not found that new number, we never would have seen that other box again. Gotta watch these fuckers. This is also a very good example of something good you can do for your kids. Keep good records! My parents did, and this is the only reason we were fortunate enough to find the box. I was initially with Nation's bank which became Bank of America. High fees and real shady shit in how they were manipulating deposits trying to get you to overdraft. Left them for BB&T and enjoyed 15 years of banking peace. Now this woke Truist crap already has my stomach turning. |

Now Lynette Zang (respect) says that unfortunately they are not too big to fail, and will. My best guess is go with a big bank or big brokerage, with all you can afford at home in gold silver cash and barter goods. Have enough in the bank for bills. Only guessing based on lots of research. Could be wrong Thanks for responding! Anonymous User ID: 78594812 United States 07/10/2022 01:51 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Cautionary tale. In March when I was about to pay income tax, for which I had left money in my SunTrust account following sale of rental property, I logged into my Truist account. Quoting: humbird Truist had just frozen all SunTrust and BBT accounts as they merged. As soon as I could.log in, I noticed 42k missing, labelled as a personal wire to the Pentagon!!! Because of course everyone wants to contribute to the Pentagon??!?? So I went to the bank office. Looked different. Giant signs everywhere with happy joggers and mixtos. Also brochures.no white people on any literature. I signed up to speak to a banker. Long wait. Met two people trying to cancel their accounts. Finally got a "banker", bored millennial latino, who was uninterested in the theft. He told me I could wait two hours for him to contact " corporate ", or wait for me to contact him.which I did. He had nothing to add, except he had filed a report and it may take a week to hear back. Went to the local police. They were great! Immediately the detective division filed a subpoena for the wire transfer. They also filed an FBI report on my behalf. Money refunded within 3 days, Immediately have reason to believe that's the only reason I got money back. The detective strongly recommended I move my money somewhere else.which I tried to do. However, Truist would not allow it. I could only open a new account with them. Which I did, but I drain it every week. Then I called Schwab to alert them I would need checks from them and be transferring funds there. They had heard lots of similar stories about Truist, same with local police. Went to the Truist website. They promised lots of diversity on their new board. So exciting!!??!! Wow I just read this word for word Thanks for the heads up! |
